Description
In the divine hierarchy of the Dragon Ball universe, the Asistente de Zeno-sama, more precisely referred to as Zeno's Attendants, are a pair of tall, silent, and enigmatic beings who serve the Omni-King, the supreme ruler of all twelve universes. Their background is largely shrouded in mystery, but they are consistently depicted as the ever-present guardians and personal aides to Zeno, appearing alongside him whenever he makes an appearance, from observing tournaments to receiving guests at his palace. Their primary function is to ensure the safety and protocol surrounding the most powerful and dangerous being in existence.
The personality of these attendants is defined by unwavering seriousness, absolute discipline, and profound respect for their master. They are perpetually vigilant, acting as a stoic and impenetrable shield between Zeno and any perceived threat or impropriety. They do not speak or engage in casual interaction; their communication is expressed through immediate, decisive action. This is most evident when they physically block Son Goku from approaching Zeno to shake his hand, an act of immense disrespect in the eyes of other deities, which visibly unnerves the attendants. Their motivation is singular and straightforward: to protect Zeno and carry out his will without question, maintaining the strict decorum befitting the Omni-King's station.
In the story, their role is that of a constant ceremonial guard and logistical support for Zeno. They are first seen watching the tournament between Universes 6 and 7 from a distance, and later appear on the planet to escort Zeno. They possess the ability to use a special warp technique to instantly transport themselves and Zeno across vast cosmic distances. Their presence serves as a narrative barrier, emphasizing Zeno's inaccessible and untouchable nature while also highlighting the shocking informality of characters like Goku, who unknowingly flout divine etiquette. Their key relationships are almost exclusively with Zeno, whom they serve, and the Grand Priest, who is a higher-ranking attendant and the father of Whis and Vados. They defer to the Grand Priest, who manages the operations of Zeno's palace, while they focus directly on Zeno's personal security.
Their development is minimal but noticeable. Initially, they react with what appears to be nervousness or surprise when Goku is permitted to not only approach but also lift Zeno off the ground during a handshake. As Goku continues to interact with Zeno in a familiar and casual manner, the attendants seem to adapt, no longer intervening to stop him, implying they have accepted the Saiyan as an unusual, but tolerated, exception to the rules. A notable expansion of their role occurs when Future Zeno is brought to the main timeline, resulting in the presence of two Omni-Kings and, consequently, two sets of these attendants serving side-by-side.
Regarding their notable abilities, they are proficient in flight and the previously mentioned warp technique. While their combat prowess is never explicitly demonstrated, their position as Zeno's personal guardians implies they are among the most powerful beings in the multiverse, likely second only to Zeno himself and perhaps the Grand Priest. Their intimidating presence alone is enough to instill terror in Gods of Destruction, suggesting a level of strength far beyond even those divine beings. They are a constant, silent, and formidable presence that underscores the absolute and terrifying nature of the Omni-King's rule.
