Alejandro Albaiceta

Description
Alejandro Albaiceta is a Spanish voice actor known for his extensive work in the dubbing of anime and live-action series for the Spanish market. His career, spanning over three decades, is most prominently defined by his long-standing association with the Dragon Ball franchise, where he has lent his voice to numerous iconic characters.

Albaiceta's entry into the world of dubbing occurred in the early 1990s. While studying dramatic art at the Escuela de Arte Dramático de Sevilla, a fellow student and future voice actress, Ana Cremades, suggested he consider a career in dubbing, a profession he was not previously aware of as a formal discipline. He subsequently trained at the Escuela Atril in Seville under Enrique Rodríguez. His first professional dubbing role came shortly after, on June 25, 1992, when he voiced the character Sam in an episode of the series Captain Planet and the Planeteers.

His career became immediately and deeply intertwined with the Dragon Ball franchise. In the early 1990s, he joined the cast of the Spanish dubbing of Dragon Ball Z, which was being produced in Seville. His initial role in the series was as the voice of Vegeta. However, his time in this role was interrupted by mandatory military service. Facing conscription, he had to step away from the project, and the role of Vegeta was subsequently taken over by another actor, Alberto Hidalgo. After completing his service, Albaiceta returned to the franchise, this time taking on the role of a teenage and adult Son Gohan, a character he has voiced for the majority of the series' subsequent productions.

His work on Son Gohan has continued across numerous films and series, including Dragon Ball Z: Battle of Gods, Dragon Ball Z: Resurrection 'F', Dragon Ball Super, and most recently Dragon Ball Super: Super Hero. Beyond Gohan, Albaiceta's association with the Dragon Ball universe is remarkably broad. He has provided voices for a wide array of other Saiyan and significant characters, including Goku in Dragon Ball GT and its special, Broly in Dragon Ball Z: Broly - The Legendary Super Saiyan, Tapion in Dragon Ball Z: Wrath of the Dragon, and Paikuhan. He also briefly voiced Krilin. This extensive work has made him one of the most recognizable voices in the franchise for Spanish audiences. The rigorous vocal demands of these roles, particularly for lengthy battle screams, have been a notable aspect of his work, requiring physical preparation and vocal technique honed since his dramatic arts training.

While Dragon Ball constitutes a major part of his filmography, Albaiceta has also participated in other anime projects. Notably, he voiced the character Wei Pang in the Spanish dub of the series Forest of Piano (Piano no Mori). His work also extends beyond anime; for instance, he voiced Conner McKnight in the live-action series Power Rangers Dino Thunder.

In addition to his on-screen roles, Albaiceta has contributed to the dubbing process in other capacities. He is credited with writing the Spanish adaptation script for the series Fullmetal Alchemist: Brotherhood. He has also participated in conventions and events related to his most famous work, engaging with fans of the Dragon Ball series.
