Description
Iamko is the Italian adaptation name for the character Yamcha, a recurring human fighter in the Dragon Ball series who appears in Dragon Ball Super. Originally known as a desert bandit when first introduced in the original Dragon Ball, by the events of Dragon Ball Super, Iamko has left his criminal past behind and lives as a martial artist and a celebrated baseball champion. He maintains a friendly, if somewhat strained, relationship with the group of Earth's defenders, particularly with his former girlfriend Bulma and his longtime rival Vegeta.

In personality, Iamko is confident and boasts a strong sense of pride in his abilities, though this is frequently undercut by his tendency to face overwhelming misfortune in battle. He is often portrayed as a figure of lighthearted comic relief, expressing a hopeful desire to be included in major conflicts despite being consistently outmatched by the series' god-level threats. His motivations center on proving his worth as a capable warrior and reclaiming some of his former glory, yet he is not driven by the same obsessive pursuit of power as characters like Goku or Vegeta.

Iamkos role in Dragon Ball Super is predominantly marginal and serves as a supporting character. He appears at social gatherings, such as Bulmas birthday party, where he witnesses the clash between Beerus and Goku. During a friendly baseball match between Universe 6 and Universe 7, Iamko is given a moment to shine, revealing that he has become a professional baseball champion. In this episode, he demonstrates a special pitching technique that combines his classic martial arts moves, the Rooga Fufu Ken and the Sokidan.

Despite his hopes to be selected for the Tournament of Power, Iamko is not considered a candidate for Universe 7s team. In the manga continuity, when the team roster is being discussed, Bulma attempts to suggest him, but the conversation is interrupted. Other characters later assume that fear of the tournament is keeping him away, leading to his friend Tenshinhan recommending Chaozu as a replacement. The tenth spot ultimately goes to Frieza, highlighting Iamkos status as an afterthought among the universes strongest fighters.

His key relationships continue to define his presence. His dynamic with Bulma is one of an ex-partner who still interacts with her social circle, while his rivalry with Vegeta is a lingering reminder of his past romantic loss and inferior fighting strength. He remains a loyal ally to Goku and a comrade to Tenshinhan and Chaozu. In the Galactic Patrol Prisoner Saga of the manga, Iamko is recruited alongside the other Earthling fighters to resist the invasion of Moros army. He leads a unit of the Galactic Patrol on Earth, successfully defeating several lower-level criminals. This arc shows a degree of development, as enemies express surprise at his competence, implying he has been quietly training. However, he is quickly overwhelmed when facing a more powerful lieutenant, Zauyogi, and requires assistance from Goku. In the final battle against Moro, Iamko contributes by channeling his energy to Goku, playing a small but crucial part in the defeat of the main villain.

Regarding notable abilities, Iamko relies on a limited but distinctive set of techniques. He is proficient in the use of a sword and is known for his signature attack, the Rouga Fufu Ken, or Wolf Fang Fist, a rapid combination of clawing strikes. He also possesses the Sokidan, an energy sphere that the user can control remotely. His most notable ability in Dragon Ball Super is not a combat technique but a baseball pitch that fuses these two attacks, resulting in a powerful and unpredictable throw. While he is far weaker than the Saiyans and other cosmic-level warriors, his experience makes him more than capable of handling standard galactic criminals.
