Description
Daishinkan, also known as the Grand Priest or Grand Minister, is a divine angel who serves as the primary attendant and close advisor to Zeno, the Omni-King who rules over all twelve universes. He resides within Zeno's Palace and acts as the highest-ranking liaison between the childlike supreme being and the rest of the divine hierarchy.

In terms of appearance, Daishinkan is a short, slim figure with light blue skin, white hair styled back, and curved eyes with purple irises. His most distinguishing feature is a luminous, light blue ring that floats autonomously behind his head, unlike the angels who serve under him and wear their halos around their necks. He wears a teal or petrol blue long-sleeved shirt with matching pants, accented by a red belt fastened with a golden buckle bearing the kanji for great.

Daishinkan presents a calm, polite, and often deceptively mellow personality. He speaks formally and carries himself with an enigmatic grace that makes his true thoughts difficult to read. On the surface, he appears blissfully indifferent to matters of mortal life and death, showing no visible reaction when announcing that losing universes would be erased from existence. However, this demeanor masks a deeper complexity. When the winning team in the Tournament of Power used their wish to restore all erased universes, Daishinkan expressed genuine satisfaction and approval, revealing that the contest was designed to test mortal virtue rather than simply inflict destruction. He also demonstrates a notable capacity for merriment, finding amusement in Goku's casual and irreverent behavior toward the Zenos, which other divine beings consider unthinkably rude. Despite his easygoing side, he enforces order when necessary, silencing an agitated Beerus with a single stern glare and commanding Goku to show proper decorum during formal proceedings.

As the father of all angels who guide the Gods of Destruction across the multiverse, Daishinkan has thirteen known children including Whis, Vados, and Merus. While he maintains a neutral stance regarding the affairs of the universes, he does care for his offspring. When his son Merus violated the sacred law requiring angels to remain neutral in mortal conflicts, Daishinkan reluctantly enforced the penalty of erasure but later chose to resurrect him as a mortal with a finite lifespan, demonstrating both his adherence to cosmic rules and his underlying paternal concern.

Daishinkan serves as the living link between Zeno's absolute authority and the functioning universe. He announces divine decrees, organizes multiversal events such as the Tournament of Power, and essentially controls the responsible exercise of Zeno's power, functioning as a royal vizier who manages the details of rulership while the Omni-King plays. He personally visited the Sacred World of the Kai to deliver the tournament notification, and his mere presence caused even proud Gods of Destruction to kneel in terror.

Throughout the Tournament of Power arc, Daishinkan constructed the arena from indestructible metal, explained rules to the competing deities, and solemnly pronounced the destruction of each defeated universe. He revealed late in the tournament that the Zenos intended to erase every universe if the winning team had made a selfish wish, confirming that the entire event was a moral examination of mortals. This disclosure positions Daishinkan as someone who understands and executes the Zenos deeper purposes while maintaining an unfailingly serene exterior.

Regarding his power, Daishinkan is consistently described as possessing overwhelming strength. In the anime, Whis states that Daishinkan ranks among the five most powerful beings in all the universes. In the manga, this assessment is even more absolute, with Whis claiming that Daishinkan is the strongest fighter in existence and that no one can hold a candle to him. His known abilities include telepathy, the creation of energy barriers, magical materialization, flight, and the power to project holographic images from his palm.
