Description
In the world of Dragon Ball Super, the character known as Hércules is the same individual referred to as Mr. Satan in the original Japanese version. His real name is Mark, but he operates under the stage name Mr. Satan, which was changed to Hércules in some international adaptations.

Regarding his background, Hércules is a human who rose to fame as the World Martial Arts Champion. He first became a public hero after taking credit for defeating the villain Cell, a feat actually accomplished by the young warrior Gohan. This event cemented his image as the savior of mankind, a title he continues to enjoy as Dragon Ball Super begins.

His personality is defined by a sharp contrast between his public persona and his private self. To the world, he is a bombastic, arrogant, and supremely confident hero who is always ready to show off his strength. In reality, he is often cowardly, clumsy, and fully aware that he is no match for the true threats the Earth faces. Despite these flaws, he has a fundamentally good heart. He genuinely loves his daughter, Videl, and shows great kindness to his friends, often rising to the occasion in his own unique way when it truly matters.

In terms of motivations, Hércules is primarily driven by a desire for glory, fame, and public adoration. He is deeply invested in maintaining his image as the world's greatest fighter. However, this superficial motivation evolves. His relationship with his daughter and his friendships, particularly with the magical being Majin Buu, reveal a deeper motivation to protect his loved ones and, in his own comedic way, contribute to the safety of the planet.

Within the story of Dragon Ball Super, Hércules plays a crucial role as a link between the public and the true heroes. After the earth-shattering battle between Goku and the God of Destruction Beerus, it is Hércules who convinces the world that he was the one who defeated the god, providing a simple explanation that maintains public order. He is also a spectator who supports the Z-Fighters, and his actions sometimes have unexpected consequences, such as when his pet dog inadvertently scares away alien warriors who had come to challenge him.

His key relationships are central to his character development. He is the father of Videl, who is stronger and braver than he is. Through Videl's marriage to Gohan, he becomes part of Goku's extended family. His most transformative relationship, however, is his friendship with the kind-hearted Majin Buu. Unlike others who see Buu as a monster, Hércules befriends him, and this bond ultimately helps to save the world. He is often seen in the company of Buu, living with him and enjoying a peaceful, domestic life.

While Hércules does not undergo a dramatic transformation in power, his character does develop from a purely egotistical showman into a more genuine, if still comedic, hero. He learns to accept help from Goku and his friends and even shows moments of true courage. On one occasion, he rushes headfirst into a dangerous battle to help his ally Krillin, an act of bravery that defies his usual cowardly nature. In an earlier saga, he also risked his life to help the injured warrior Vegeta, proving he is more than just a fraud.

As for his notable abilities, Hércules possesses peak human strength for someone who has not undergone specialized ki training. He is capable of impressive feats for a normal person, such as pulling several buses or smashing through fourteen sheets of ice. He is a skilled martial artist by ordinary standards and won the World Martial Arts Tournament when no super-powered fighters were competing. However, his abilities are completely insignificant compared to beings like Goku, Vegeta, or even his own daughter. He often relies on a jetpack to fly or uses trickery and explosives in the rare instances he is forced to fight seriously. His true "ability" lies in his charisma, his talent for self-promotion, and his incredible luck.
