Movie
Description
Madoka Ayukawa is the female lead of the story. She lives alone in a large house because her parents, who are professional musicians, are frequently touring abroad, and her older sister has married and moved overseas. To support herself, she works part‑time at a local café called ABCB. She is known among her schoolmates as a tough and feared delinquent, earning the nickname “Madoka the Pick” for her skill at throwing a guitar pick like a shuriken. Despite this reputation, Madoka excels academically and is talented in music, playing both the saxophone and guitar. Her outward appearance is aloof and intimidating, but underneath she is kind, selfless, and deeply loyal to those she cares about. Her central conflict arises from her hidden romantic feelings for Kyosuke Kasuga, which she suppresses out of concern for her best friend Hikaru Hiyama, who is also in love with Kyosuke. This love triangle is the core of the movie’s story, where she must navigate her own emotions while trying not to hurt the two people closest to her. Over the course of the narrative, Madoka sheds much of her tough exterior: she gives up smoking because of Kyosuke’s influence, becomes more open with her feelings, and shows a vulnerable, nurturing side. Her motivations are driven by a desire to protect the people she loves and to find a honest resolution to her conflicted heart. In the movie, she is at a point of maturity where she must decide whether to continue hiding her true self or to risk the pain of change for the chance at genuine happiness. Her notable abilities include physical combat, musical proficiency, and a sharp intellect, but her most defining trait is her capacity for emotional growth and self‑sacrifice.
