Hikari Horaki is the class representative for Class 2-A at the school in Tokyo-3, the same class attended by Shinji Ikari and the other Evangelion pilots. She is thirteen years old and is easily recognized by her brown hair, typically styled into two pigtails, and a small scattering of freckles across her face. Her name, along with those of her unseen elder sister Kodama and younger sister Nozomi, is a reference to the different services of the Tokaido Shinkansen line.
Hikari takes her duties as class representative with the utmost seriousness, presenting a demeanor that is often seen as rigid, aggressive, and by-the-book.
