TV-Series
Description
Kurumi 2-Shiki, also designated as Kurumi Mark II, is a Steel Angel, an advanced gynoid with combat capabilities, who lay dormant for seventy-five years within the basement of the Kagura family home. She is awakened from her slumber when high school student Nako Kagura accidentally kisses her, thereby establishing a master-servant link that binds Kurumi to Nako as her devoted protector. Kurumi possesses a bright and energetic personality, always eager to serve her new master and overjoyed simply to be active once more. Her demeanor is cheerful and affectionate, though she can be naive about the nuances of everyday human life, and she approaches her duties with unwavering enthusiasm and loyalty.

Kurumi's central motivation is to safeguard Nako and earn her affection. This drive places her at the heart of a sprawling romantic rivalry after Nako's best friend, Uruka Sumeragi, becomes consumed by jealousy and attempts to eliminate Kurumi using a secret arsenal of mecha. The conflict intensifies with the arrival of other Steel Angel Mark II units — first Saki, who is awakened by Uruka, and later Karinka, who independently seeks Nako's attention — all of whom compete with Kurumi for Nako's favor. Despite the chaotic love polygon, Kurumi remains Nako's most steadfast guardian and the emotional anchor of the series.

Over the course of the story, Kurumi evolves from a single-minded servant into a more emotionally nuanced individual. She confronts feelings like jealousy and friendship, learning to value not only her bond with Nako but also a begrudging respect for the other angels. Her relationships with Saki and Karinka gradually shift from outright hostility to a complicated camaraderie built on shared circumstances. In terms of abilities, Kurumi exhibits superhuman strength, speed, durability, and agility typical of her model line, enabling her to engage in high-speed combat and withstand intense attacks. She is also equipped with integrated weaponry and can harness energy for offensive purposes, making her a formidable opponent when Nako is threatened. However, her greatest asset is her fierce determination and the warmth she brings to those around her, embodying the blend of mechanical might and earnest heart that defines the Steel Angel archetype.
