Description
Jimera is a red-haired boy who first appears in the first season of the Duel Masters anime. He is known for telling numerous interesting stories to Shobu and performing a distinctive action known as the Viper's Dance.
In terms of personality, Jimera is characterized by a willingness to cheat during duels, demonstrating a cunning and unscrupulous nature in his attempts to win. Despite these tactics, he consistently loses when facing Shobu. Jimera's motivations evolve over time; he eventually expresses a desire to become a true Kaijudo duelist to better understand real creatures, after a journey where he was attacked by them.
His role in the story begins as a recurring rival and opponent. He achieved a notable victory by defeating a duelist using a Water Civilization deck in the finals of the Duel Masters Invitational Junior Circuit Tournament, destroying his Aqua Guard to win the duel. Later, Jimera gains two followers named Ferne and Ernie, local thugs who challenged him and subsequently begged to become his apprentices after he easily defeated them. In his efforts to appear as a strong leader to these followers, Jimera attempts to defeat Shobu using a deck that belonged to Kokujo, which he acquired by accident after his own deck was swapped. This attempt ended in defeat, and he was forced to return the deck.
Jimera's development is evident in later story arcs. He reappears in Duel Masters Charge as a contestant in the Duel Masters Battle Arena Tournament. By this time, his appearance has changed, now featuring a mega cobra and a long tongue. He also now uses a Darkness Civilization deck, a choice influenced by his earlier experience with Kokujo's deck. In this tournament, he duels fairly against Benny Haha, losing the match but making a good impression due to his changed, honest approach to dueling. He was later invited as a contestant to a mysterious island where the human world and the creature worlds converge. On this island, he chose not to duel initially, preferring to observe his surroundings. However, when creatures began appearing uncontrollably in the real world, he and the other contestants were rescued by Knight.
