Description
Tio Klarus is the princess of the dragonmen clan, a race exiled as heretics by the Holy Church. Centuries ago, humans influenced by the gods annihilated her clan, killing her parents. Inheriting her father's mission to defeat the false gods, she trained relentlessly, surpassing even her grandfather to become the strongest dragonman in her village. She eventually departed her homeland to investigate otherworldly summonings, seeking a path to vengeance against the deities responsible for her people's suffering.
In human form, she presents as a voluptuous woman in her twenties, standing over 170 cm tall. She possesses long jet-black hair, striking golden eyes, slightly pointed ears, and sharp fingernails and toenails. Her typical attire includes a black traditional kimono adorned with floral designs, a pink undershirt, oiran's sandals, a red hairpin, and a golden bangle. Her true dragon form is approximately 7 meters long, covered in jet-black scales with the same golden eyes. After mastering metamorphosis magic, she gained the ability to alter her dragon form's size, ranging from human-sized to massively enlarged versions.
Originally strong-willed, kind, and wise, her personality underwent a dramatic shift after her first encounter with Hajime Nagumo. During this encounter, she was brainwashed by Yukitoshi Shimizu and attacked Hajime's group. Defeated—partly due to Hajime targeting a vulnerable point in her dragon form—she developed a perverted and masochistic personality, deriving pleasure from pain and humiliation. Despite these traits, she retains a sharp intellect, frequently providing crucial strategic advice. She expresses deep loyalty to Hajime and his companions, willingly risking her life for them. Her intense hatred for Ehit and the Holy Church, whom she holds responsible for her clan's destruction, remains. While she initially joined Hajime to exploit his strength for vengeance, her motivations evolved into genuine loyalty and affection.
Her combat abilities are formidable. As a dragonman, she possesses superhuman strength, speed, and durability in both human and dragon forms, with these capabilities increasing significantly when transformed. Her strength allows her to fight armies of ash dragons single-handedly and injure powerful foes like the demon general Freid Bagwa. She achieves flight speeds exceeding Mach 11 by combining draconification with pain conversion and studying aerodynamics. Her scales provide near-unbreakable defense, further enhanced by magic like "Dragon Scales Hardening." She wields close-combat weapons such as the Obsidian Dominator whip and excels in hand-to-hand combat after centuries of training.
Magically, she possesses immense mana reserves surpassing most humans and demons. She is proficient in multiple magic types, including fire, wind, and ancient magics acquired from labyrinths. Her expertise includes Restoration Magic, which manipulates time to heal injuries or restore objects; Spirit Magic, which interferes with souls to stabilize mental states, bind souls, and communicate telepathically; Evolution Magic, which analyzes and alters abstract information to enhance physical capabilities and regeneration; and Pain Conversion, which turns physical damage into pleasure, bolstering durability and mental resilience. Her mental fortitude is exceptional, resisting illusions, brainwashing, and emotional manipulation.
Her relationships are defined by unwavering devotion to Hajime, whom she addresses as "Master" and eventually marries. She shares a friendly rivalry with Yue and other members of his party, competing for his affection while maintaining mutual respect. She is protective of allies like Myu and collaborates with characters such as Aiko Hatayama to destroy the Holy Church's temple. Conversely, she shows intense disdain for enemies, particularly Freid Bagwa—whom she scarred for injuring Hajime—and Ehit, whose demise she celebrated. She openly rejects advances from other men, such as Kouki Amanogawa, deeming them unworthy compared to Hajime.
Her character development transitions her from a vengeance-driven loner to an integral member of Hajime's group. Early interactions reveal her trauma and manipulative intent, but pivotal moments—such as protecting Hajime from Freid and confessing her love—demonstrate genuine emotional growth. Participating in the destruction of the Holy Church's temple provides catharsis for her hatred. After Ehit's defeat, she channels her energy into peaceful pursuits like co-designing clothing with Remia. Despite retaining her eccentric traits, she consistently proves her reliability in crises, balancing comedic masochism with profound wisdom and resolve.
