Alice is introduced to the story when the main group discovers her in the aftermath of a terrible tragedy. Her father, a newspaper reporter, was killed by other human survivors who refused to let them into their home for shelter. After his death, Alice is left alone and vulnerable to attack, which is when Takashi Komuro and Kohta Hirano arrive to rescue her from the approaching threat.
