Misty Nohara is the mother of the Nohara family in the anime series. She is twenty-nine years old, though she often pretends to be younger, typically claiming to be twenty-four or twenty-five. As a full-time homemaker, she manages the household chores, including cleaning, cooking, laundry, and childcare, though her dedication to these tasks varies. At her core, she is a caring and nurturing person who loves her family deeply, but her positive qualities are frequently overshadowed by her many personal shortcomings.

Misty’s personality is defined by a strong will, a quick temper, and a tendency toward self-interest. She can be strict and even harsh with her husband and children when they disobey her, often resorting to physical punishment. At the same time, she is highly vain and enjoys taking naps and talking on the phone with friends. She has a habit of making grand plans, such as strict diet regimens or ambitious savings schemes, but these almost always fail within the first week due to her own lack of discipline. For instance, she is easily tempted by bargain sales and buys items in excessive quantities, believing she is saving money when she is actually wasting it. She also secretly sets aside money for her own personal use while being frugal with spending on her husband and son.
