Description
Kuririn is a young bald martial artist who trains alongside Son Goku under the tutelage of Master Roshi. Having recently completed their intense training on Roshi’s island, Kuririn and Goku receive an invitation to participate in a prestigious World Martial Arts Tournament held in the land of Mifan. Within the movie, Kuririn is depicted as an amiable, competitive, and somewhat extroverted fighter who still retains a playful side, often providing lighthearted moments that contrast with the escalating danger. His primary motivation is to test his newfound strength against skilled opponents, support his friend Goku, and assist in the larger crisis that unfolds when it becomes clear that the emperor Chiaotzu has lost his companion Ran Ran and that the villainous Tao Pai Pai and Master Shen are exploiting the situation for their own ends. Kuririn’s relationship with Goku is central; though once rivals, the two have become loyal friends and training partners who back each other up in battle without hesitation. He respects Master Roshi and adheres to the Turtle School teachings, which he represents by wearing the signature orange gi. Throughout the tournament, Kuririn demonstrates respectable combat ability, utilizing his speed, acrobatic fighting style, and the Kamehameha energy wave that he mastered during his training. This outing shows Kuririn as a steadfast and brave ally, determined to do the right thing despite being outmatched by some of the more fearsome adversaries, marking a step in his journey from a former monk-in-training to a true martial artist and reliable protector.
