Description
Metallic is a robotic artificial human created by the Red Ribbon Army under the command of General White, designed to serve as a guard on the third floor of Muscle Tower. In the film Dragon Ball: The Path to Power, he is encountered by Goku as a formidable obstacle during the young hero’s infiltration of the tower. Metallic’s background is that of a loyal, programmed android with no known origin beyond being a product of the army’s weapons development, likely built by Dr. Gero. His personality is purely mechanical and devoid of emotion; he speaks in a flat, monotone manner and follows his orders without hesitation or deviation. His sole motivation is to carry out his assigned duty: preventing anyone from advancing past his floor and defeating them by any means necessary.

Metallic’s role in the story is that of a mid-level antagonist who tests Goku’s growing strength. Unlike the original Dragon Ball series, where his fight was extended, in The Path to Power Goku dispatches him relatively quickly with a Kamehameha that blows off his head, though Metallic continues attacking until his battery runs out. This encounter serves to demonstrate both Goku’s progression and the relentless nature of the Red Ribbon Army’s machines. Metallic has no significant relationships with other characters beyond his commander, General White, whom he serves, and his adversary, Goku. There is no development for Metallic; he remains a static, single-purpose machine from start to finish.

Notable abilities include superhuman strength and durability, allowing him to withstand blows that would defeat ordinary opponents. He can fire a missile from his mouth, launch his fist as a projectile rocket punch, and continue fighting even after sustaining catastrophic damage, such as the loss of his head or limbs. His only weakness is a reliance on internal batteries that can drain over time, rendering him helpless once their power is exhausted. Metallic is a straightforward, memorable example of a robotic enforcer within the Red Ribbon Army.
