Description
Dorodabo, also known as Wings, is a character from the Dragon Ball film series and serves as one of the primary henchmen to the evil Namekian warlord Lord Slug. His character design is that of a large, imposing, gargoyle-like humanoid with brown skin and a pair of functional wings growing from his back. He belongs to Lord Slugs personal force and is among the most trusted and powerful members of the clan, acting as an elite soldier and enforcer.

In terms of personality, Dorodabo is portrayed as cruel, boastful, and cunning, though he is also prone to overestimating his own strength and abilities. He is fiercely loyal to Lord Slug, carrying out orders without question and maintaining a deep-seated belief in his masters invincibility and ultimate power. This loyalty is rooted in his position within the clans hierarchy, and he takes pride in serving such a formidable conqueror. He demonstrates a degree of cunning and opportunism, as seen when he attempts to exploit what he perceives as a common bond with Piccolo, appealing to their shared heritage as members of a Demon Clan in an effort to save his own life after being defeated. Despite his bravado, he ultimately shows a cowardly streak, quickly resorting to surrender when overwhelmed in combat.

Dorodabos primary motivation is to serve Lord Slugs ambitions of universal conquest. He participates directly in the clans mission on Earth, which involves locating the Dragon Balls to restore Lord Slugs youth and then terraforming the planet into an icy wasteland suitable for the evil Namekians rule. His role in the story is that of a mid-tier antagonist. Upon arriving on Earth with Lord Slugs other minions including Angila and Medamatcha, he is tasked with finding the Dragon Balls, successfully locating the Five-Star Ball on a rocky mountain. After the planets environment is frozen, he engages in battle with Piccolo, who arrives alongside Gohan to confront the invaders.

His key relationships are almost entirely defined by his subservience to Lord Slug. He operates as part of a trio of high-ranking officers under the warlord, alongside Angila and Medamatcha, functioning as a cohesive unit to carry out their masters orders. His most significant and only real interaction with a main character is his brief but decisive confrontation with Piccolo. In this fight, he attempts to use his brute strength and flight abilities against the Namekian warrior. However, Piccolo proves to be drastically superior, brutally crushing Dorodabos hand, breaking his arm, and thoroughly pummeling him. Defeated and desperate, Dorodabo surrenders and tries to convince Piccolo to join Lord Slugs cause, suggesting that as fellow demon clansmen, they should cooperate. He mistakes Piccolos outstretched hand as a sign of acceptance, but Piccolo instead kills him instantly by firing an energy blast point-blank, vaporizing his head.

Regarding development, Dorodabo is a static character who does not undergo any significant change or growth. He is introduced as a loyal and powerful servant of Lord Slug and dies in that same role, undone by his arrogance and inability to correctly assess a superior opponent. His primary purpose in the narrative is to serve as an obstacle for Piccolo, demonstrating the latters strength and ruthlessness before the final battle against Lord Slug. In supplementary material, Dorodabo is noted for his physical abilities. He possesses superhuman strength, which one guidebook states is greater than any other member of Lord Slugs demon clan. He can naturally fly using his wings, a technique known as Hikou. He is also capable of using ki blasts, the standard energy attacks common to many fighters in the series. In the video game Dragon Ball Heroes, one of his attacks is named Evil Gravity, a powerful punch. His appearance and design were directly modeled after Dodoria, one of Friezas elite henchmen from the main Dragon Ball Z series.
