TV-Series
Description
Largo Lloyd is the director of the Bee Hive, the headquarters of the Letter Bee delivery service in Yuusari. He is a middle-aged man with violet hair and violet eyes, often seen wearing glasses. His appearance when younger resembled both Jiggy Pepper and Gauche Suede, combining Gauche’s hair color with Jiggy’s glasses. Lloyd became a Letter Bee as a boy and was known from a young age for his outstanding performance, consistently being the fastest, most reliable, and best bee among his peers. This reputation eventually led to his appointment as the head of the Bee Hive in Yuusari.
On the surface, Lloyd presents himself as carefree, laid‑back, and somewhat lax in his duties. He has a penchant for collecting odd items and tends to speak in a cryptic manner, which gives him an eccentric and mysterious air. Behind this facade, however, lies a sharp intellect and a deep understanding of AmberGround’s geography, as well as the political machinations of the capital, Akatsuki. His true motivations are often hidden, and he holds a personal interest in Lag Seeing, likely because of Lag’s sheer enthusiasm and the potential he sees in him.
Lloyd’s motivations become clearer over the course of the story. He initially appears loyal to the Amberground government, having risen through the ranks with the intention of changing the system from within. After saving a character named Zeal from certain death, his demeanor shifts from carefree to more serious and grim. He eventually joins the organization Reverse, proposing a revolution against the government. His arc is defined by his defection from the Bee Hive to pursue his own agenda concerning the artificial Sun of AmberGround, making him a pivotal figure in the final conflict as the dark origins of the world’s energy source are revealed.
As the supervisor of the Bee Hive, Lloyd oversees many of the deliveries made by the Letter Bees. He works closely with Vice Director Aria Link, handling administrative duties while also keeping a watchful eye on his subordinates. He shows particular interest in Lag Seeing, Zazie Winters, and Connor Kluff, acting as their superior. His relationship with Aria Link is complex, as they have worked together for years, and he also shares a history with Gauche Suede, having overseen Gauche’s career as well. Lloyd is also acquainted with Niche, knowing her true identity as a descendant of the legendary Maka creatures, which initially makes Lag see him as a troublesome figure who might try to buy Niche.
In terms of abilities, Lloyd was a top‑tier Letter Bee in his youth, renowned for his speed and reliability. While his specific Spirit Amber weapon is not detailed, he possesses the standard skills of a Letter Bee, including the use of a Shindanjuu (heart‑bullet gun) and knowledge of Gaichuu. His experience and tactical mind make him a valuable asset, and his decision to align with Reverse showcases his willingness to take drastic action to achieve his goals. Throughout the series, Lloyd develops from a seemingly disinterested administrator into a determined revolutionary, actively working to expose and challenge the Amberground government’s secrets.
