Akita Toushirou is a tantou, or short sword, forged by the swordsmith Awataguchi Yoshimitsu, placing him within the large Awataguchi school and among the many Toushirou brothers at the citadel. He has a gentle and youthful appearance with short pink hair and bright blue eyes, often wearing white tights as part of his attire. His personality is defined by a quiet curiosity and an observant nature, having been a treasured possession for many years in the past. This has given him a strong interest in the outside world and a fondness for collecting secrets and information, a hobby he excels at by making full use of his special skill for hide-and-seek. His quiet and unassuming demeanor sometimes leads to him being overlooked or accidentally left behind by his more energetic brothers, though this is seen as a gentle consequence of his talent for remaining hidden. Within the citadel where swords manifest to protect history, he is one of the later swords to be obtained by the master known as the Saniwa. His daily life involves participating in chores such as cleaning, and he interacts cordially with his many Awataguchi siblings as well as other residents. Rather than undergoing dramatic change, he maintains a consistent personality as a sweet, secretive younger brother figure whose charm lies in his quiet persistence and innocent desire to learn about the world. Beyond standard tantou combat abilities, his mastery of hide-and-seek serves as a practical tool for gathering secrets, making him an unexpectedly effective information gatherer.
