Yoshitaka Yamaya is a Japanese voice actor born on February 15, 1992, in Sendai, Miyagi Prefecture. Inspired to pursue a career in voice acting after watching the anime The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya, he withdrew from university to enroll in the Tokyo Animator Academy, from which he graduated. He made his professional debut in 2013 with a small role in the anime Senran Kagura.

Yamaya's first leading role came in 2014 when he was cast as Yūki Hase in the television anime One Week Friends. This performance is widely considered his breakthrough role. In the years following, he built an extensive filmography, securing prominent roles in major franchises. He voiced Tomohito Sugino in the Assassination Classroom series and its associated films. He also joined the cast of The Idolmaster SideM franchise as Kyōsuke Aoi, a role that spanned the television anime and multiple mobile games.

Throughout the late 2010s and into the 2020s, Yamaya's career continued to expand with a variety of notable characters. He voiced Junpei Yoshino in the first season of the globally popular Jujutsu Kaisen. He also took on the role of Itsuki Kawasumi in The Rising of the Shield Hero, reappearing in its second and fourth seasons. Other significant credits from this period include Shax Lied in Welcome to Demon School! Iruma-kun, Muku Sakisaka in the A3! anime and stage adaptation, Yūta Asuka in Stars Align, and Naoya Shikijou in Science Fell in Love, So I Tried to Prove It. He has also been the voice of Iori Hida in several Digimon Adventure films, including Last Evolution Kizuna and The Beginning. More recently, in 2024, he was cast as Kazuki Tsuchiya in the baseball anime Oblivion Battery.

Yamaya has demonstrated versatility across media, with roles in video games such as Touken Ranbu, where he voices Akita Tōshirō, and numerous drama CDs. He has also participated in live-action stage readings and dubbing work for foreign series like Hank Zipzer. Throughout his career, he has been affiliated with different agencies, initially with SPACE CRAFT, then WITH LINE, and as of late 2019, he is represented by First Wind Production. While he has not received major individual awards, he has been part of numerous successful and critically acclaimed projects, earning recognition for his ability to convey complex emotions naturally in his performances.
