TV-Series
Description
Itsuki Kawasumi is one of the four Legendary Heroes summoned to the world of the story, specifically chosen as the Bow Hero. He is a seventeen-year-old with a youthful appearance, short stature, and a slim build. His most defining physical traits are his wavy, slightly disheveled hair and his unusual golden eyes, which are a result of wielding a cursed weapon series. He typically wears light, agile clothing, including a sleeveless tunic, leather gloves and boots, and a distinctive green hooded cape draped over his right shoulder and neck.

Before his summoning, Itsuki lived in an alternate version of Japan, a world where many people are born with supernatural abilities. His own power, known as Accuracy, guaranteed that any unblocked ranged attack he made would hit its target. He was enrolled in a school for those with such abilities, but his power was considered low-tier. After experiencing bullying and inferiority because of this classification, he became a withdrawn individual who sought escape in console video games. His life in that world ended when he was suddenly hit by a truck, after which he awoke in the new world as one of its summoned heroes.

Personality-wise, Itsuki is driven by a deep-seated need for recognition and praise. This stems directly from his past as a bullied child, leaving him with a powerful desire to feel special and superior. He often speaks of justice and positions himself as a champion of righteousness, but his perspective is highly self-serving and one-sided. His actions are less about altruism and more about receiving adulation for playing the role of a hero. He initially believes this new world operates exactly like a video game, leading him to act recklessly and with a sense of invincibility. This fragile ego makes him susceptible to flattery and quick to lash out when his abilities are questioned. He treats the meek Rishia Ivyred poorly, as her lack of confidence reminds him painfully of his own former weakness.

Itsuki's role in the story is initially antagonistic towards the Shield Hero, Naofumi Iwatani. He is easily manipulated, believing false accusations against Naofumi and looking down on him for having what he considers the weakest legendary weapon. He readily accuses Naofumi of cheating, stealing achievements, and other crimes without evidence, reinforcing his own belief that he is the superior hero. This arrogance and naivety lead him and the other heroes to be manipulated by the kingdom's scheming nobles, setting major plot events into motion.

His key relationships are fraught with conflict and misunderstanding. He views Naofumi with contempt and suspicion, a feeling that eventually becomes hostile when he falls under the influence of his weapon's curse. He has a more functional, if not friendly, dynamic with Ren Amaki, the Sword Hero, and is somewhat envious of the preferential treatment Motoyasu Kitamura, the Spear Hero, receives. His most significant relationship is with his former companion, Rishia Ivyred. He initially took her in after saving her from a corrupt noble, but he and his other party members belittled her and focused on her flaws. When she received praise from the queen for her bravery, Itsuki's pride was wounded, leading him to falsely accuse her and expel her from his party, an act that pushed her to the brink of suicide. This decision deeply damages the respect others have for him. Later, his own companions betray him, manipulated by the noblewoman Malty, leaving Itsuki broken and indebted while he is suffering from the side effects of his curse.

Itsuki undergoes significant development after a major defeat. He unlocks the Pride Curse Series for his bow, which he dubs the Justice Bow. This cursed weapon dramatically increases his power but also warps his mind, making him obsessive about forcing his version of justice on others through the use of brainwashing arrows. Itsuki's skills are built around ranged combat and tactical utility. The Legendary Bow grants him numerous offensive abilities, including Wind Arrow, Thunder Shoot, and the powerful defense-ignoring Eagle Piercing Shot. He also has utility skills such as Transfer Bow, which allows for teleportation. Under the influence of the Pride Curse, he can manifest a sinister suit of armor and use devastating attacks like Bull of Phalaris. His natural talent for music also allows him to wield the Vassal Musical Instrument effectively, using its transformations into guitars and violins for combat. After being freed from his curse and confronting the consequences of his actions, he experiences a total loss of motivation and free will as a side effect, eventually seeking forgiveness from Rishia and choosing to stay in Naofumi's village to recover.
