Born on July 6, 1988, he was raised in the Seattle area, where he developed an early interest in the craft. He trained in the Japanese method of anime voice acting under a veteran seiyuu in Seattle and later earned a degree in Theatre Arts from the University of Puget Sound. Following his graduation, he moved to Los Angeles to pursue a career in acting, focusing on animation, video games, and other storytelling media.
Kimerer's voice acting career began in the early 2010s with minor roles in anime dubs. He gained some of his first major leading roles with his performances as Haruyuki Arita in Accel World and Ryuji Takasu in Toradora, which helped establish him in the industry.
