Description
"Accel World" is set in a near-future Tokyo where a revolutionary virtual reality network, the Neuro Linker, has become ubiquitous. The Neuro Linker allows users to connect to the global network and experience augmented reality. Within this system, a secret program called Brain Burst exists, granting users the ability to accelerate their perception of time. The program is accessible only to a select group of individuals, primarily children and teenagers, who are chosen based on their mental resilience and emotional stability.

The protagonist, Haruyuki Arita, is a bullied middle school student who struggles with low self-esteem and body image issues. His life takes a dramatic turn when he encounters Kuroyukihime, the popular and enigmatic vice-president of his school. She introduces him to Brain Burst, revealing that she is one of its top-ranked players, known as Burst Linkers. Haruyuki becomes a Burst Linker himself, adopting the avatar "Silver Crow," a sleek, silver-colored fighter with the unique ability to fly—a rare trait in the Brain Burst universe.

The central conflict revolves around the Burst Linkers' battles in the Accelerated World, a virtual reality arena where they fight to gain Burst Points, which can be used to enhance their abilities or extend their time in the accelerated state. However, losing battles results in the loss of points, and if a player runs out of points, they are permanently expelled from Brain Burst, losing all memories of the program. Kuroyukihime's ultimate goal is to reach Level 10, the highest rank in Brain Burst, to confront the creator of the program and uncover its true purpose.

As Haruyuki navigates the Accelerated World, he forms alliances with other Burst Linkers, including Chiyuri Kurashima and Takumu Mayuzumi, who also become integral to his journey. Together, they face powerful adversaries, including the Six Kings of Pure Color, a group of elite Level 9 Burst Linkers who dominate the Accelerated World. Each King possesses unique abilities and strategies, making them formidable opponents.

The narrative explores themes of personal growth, friendship, and the consequences of technological advancement. Haruyuki's journey is marked by his struggle to overcome his insecurities and become a stronger individual, both in the real world and the Accelerated World. The series delves into the psychological and emotional challenges faced by the characters, as well as the ethical implications of the Brain Burst program.

"Accel World" combines elements of science fiction, action, and drama, with a focus on strategic battles and character development. The interplay between the real and virtual worlds is a key aspect of the story, highlighting the impact of technology on human relationships and identity. The series maintains a balance between intense action sequences and moments of introspection, creating a compelling narrative that appeals to a wide audience.

1Acceleration
The series premiere, set in the year 2046, introduces Haruyuki Arita, a student who endures constant bullying from Araya and his gang due to his appearance and shy disposition. To escape his daily reality, Haruyuki immerses himself in the school's virtual squash game, where he consistently holds the highest score. His childhood friend, Chiyuri Kurashima, attempts to offer support and suggests reporting the bullies, but Haruyuki rebuffs her pity and pushes her away. Upon returning to the virtual court, he discovers his unbeaten score has been surpassed by Kuroyukihime, the popular and elegant Student Council Vice-President. Kuroyukihime, intrigued by his skills, invites him to lunch, where she proposes to change his reality and directly transfers a program called 'Brain Burst' to his Neurolinker. This program allows users to accelerate their cognitive processes, making the flow of time in the real world appear to stand still. Their meeting is interrupted by Araya, whom Kuroyukihime deliberately provokes into attacking Haruyuki. As the punch is thrown, she guides Haruyuki to activate Brain Burst, and within the accelerated pause, she devises a plan to use the real-world school cameras against the bully. Haruyuki follows her strategy, letting the punch connect and then deliberately falling into Kuroyukihime, which results in Araya and his gang being apprehended by school security. After school, Haruyuki avoids his other childhood friend, Takumu Mayuzumi, fearing Chiyuri revealed his bullying. That night, tormented by nightmares, Haruyuki accidentally connects to the globalnet against Kuroyukihime's warning and is pulled into a mysterious, war-torn virtual world where his avatar transforms into a metallic, winged form named Silver Crow.
2Transformation
Following his abrupt defeat, Haruyuki Arita learns from Kuroyukihime that the Brain Burst program is a fighting game where Burst Linkers duel for points to maintain their acceleration ability. She explains that his avatar, Silver Crow, was formed from his subconscious, reflecting his inferiority complex. Despite being offered a chance to return to his normal life, Haruyuki chooses to remain a Burst Linker to repay Kuroyukihime for her help. After they log out, Kuroyukihime surprises Haruyuki by telling curious classmates that she confessed her love to him and was rejected. Armed with a better understanding of the game's mechanics, Haruyuki logs back into the Accelerated World for a rematch against the biker avatar, Ash Roller. Initially, Silver Crow attempts to win by timeout, fleeing to a rooftop that Ash Roller's motorcycle seemingly cannot climb. However, Ash Roller reveals he used a level-up bonus to upgrade his bike, granting it the ability to traverse vertical surfaces and allowing him to run over Silver Crow repeatedly. During the assault, Haruyuki recalls Kuroyukihime's lesson on color affinities and deduces Ash Roller's weakness: his motorcycle is rear-wheel drive. Silver Crow seizes the opportunity, lifts the bike's rear wheel to immobilize it, and defeats Ash Roller with a headbutt. The victory is witnessed by other Burst Linkers and solidifies Haruyuki's first win. Upon logging out, he is greeted by Kuroyukihime, but the moment is interrupted when his childhood friend, Chiyuri Kurashima, confronts her, demanding to know if she is manipulating Haruyuki.
3Investigation
Kuroyukihime reveals to Haruyuki the origins of the Brain Burst program, explaining it was created anonymously seven years prior and is only accessible to individuals who have worn a Neurolinker since birth, which limits all Burst Linkers to age fifteen and under. Her ultimate objective is to reach Level 10 to meet the program's creator and learn its true purpose, a feat requiring five victories over other Level 9 Burst Linkers, as a single defeat results in the permanent loss of the program. This goal is complicated by her past as the Black King, one of the six Kings of Pure Color, who two years earlier broke a non-aggression pact by beheading the Red King, Red Rider, an act that branded her a traitor and forced her to conceal her true avatar, Black Lotus. Currently, she faces a new threat from a Burst Linker called Cyan Pile, who is repeatedly challenging her within the school's network and risks exposing her identity; her efforts to identify the challenger during a school assembly were unsuccessful, leading her to suspect the individual is using a method to hide their presence. Kuroyukihime's prime suspect is Haruyuki's childhood friend, Chiyuri, which explains her earlier provocative behavior toward her, though Haruyuki expresses doubt given Chiyuri's known lack of skill in games. Acting on this suspicion, Haruyuki visits Chiyuri's home under the pretense of apologizing for a recent incident, and the two reconcile by directly linking their Neurolinkers with a short cable. During their linked conversation, Haruyuki searches Chiyuri's files and discovers she is not Cyan Pile, but instead finds a backdoor program installed on her device that allows an external user to connect through her to the school network. This discovery reveals how Cyan Pile has been issuing challenges without revealing their true location or identity, shifting the investigation toward finding the individual exploiting Chiyuri's Neurolinker as a conduit.
4Declaration
The episode opens with Haruyuki refraining from tampering with the backdoor program in Chiyuri's Neuro-linker to avoid detection. A rift forms between Haruyuki and Kuroyukihime after he mentions conducting a direct link with Chiyuri, causing Kuroyukihime to behave distantly. The tension culminates in a confrontation where Haruyuki, deflecting the advances of gossip club members, insists he is merely Kuroyukihime's pawn, prompting her to slap him in frustration. At this moment, a car driven by the vengeful Araya swerves onto the sidewalk toward them. Both Haruyuki and Kuroyukihime accelerate into the Accel World, where Kuroyukihime confesses her love for him. To save him, she utilizes a high-risk ability called Physical Full Burst, which rapidly depletes her Burst Points but allows her to move her real body within the accelerated space, enabling her to push Haruyuki out of the vehicle's path. Kuroyukihime sustains severe injuries and is admitted to intensive care. While keeping vigil, Haruyuki realizes her Burst Points are now critically low, leaving her avatar defenseless against any Burst Linker attack. The following morning, Haruyuki observes Takumu arriving at the hospital, a visit he could not have known to make unless he had monitored the incident through the school network. Haruyuki deduces that Takumu is Cyan Pile, the one who installed the backdoor in Chiyuri's device. Understanding that Takumu intends to challenge the vulnerable Kuroyukihime to a duel, Haruyuki instantly issues a challenge to Takumu within the Brain Burst program, intercepting him before he can target her.
5Aviation
The episode begins with the direct confrontation between Haruyuki's Silver Crow and Takumu's Cyan Pile, where the identity of the antagonist is explicitly confirmed to be Haruyuki's childhood friend. Silver Crow initially leverages his speed to gain an advantage, but Cyan Pile lands his special attack, Splash Stinger, which results in Silver Crow losing a foot. The conflict is driven by Takumu's pent-up frustration regarding Chiyuri's longstanding concern for Haruyuki, which he vocalizes during the battle. A powerful blow from Cyan Pile sends Silver Crow crashing through a structure, leaving him with minimal health points and depositing him in a hidden basement area. There, Haruyuki discovers the inactive avatar of Kuroyukihime; the sound of its beating heart prompts a realization that strength is not solely defined by victory. This moment triggers a transformation in Silver Crow, who manifests a pair of wings, becoming the first Burst Linker with the ability to fly. Utilizing this new power, Silver Crow reverses the battle's momentum and gains the upper hand, lifting Cyan Pile high into the air where a fall would deplete all of Takumu's points. Haruyuki chooses not to eliminate him, instead proposing that Takumu abandon his solo crusade and become an ally, effectively sparing his Burst Linker status. Following the duel's resolution, Kuroyukihime reveals her avatar, Black Lotus, to the gathered spectators, publicly announcing her resurgence and intentions. The episode concludes in the real world with Haruyuki visiting Kuroyukihime in the hospital, where she requests that he address her by her personal first name.
6Retribution
Following his defeat, Takumu is expelled from the Blue Legion by its leader, Blue Knight, after requesting punishment for his actions. The episode then shifts focus to the aftermath of the conflict between Haruyuki and Takumu. The two boys disclose the full truth about Brain Burst and their duels to Chiyuri, who initially reacts with shock and anger at being kept in the dark. In an effort to train together, Haruyuki and Takumu engage in team battles, allowing Haruyuki to accumulate enough Burst Points to advance to Level 2. However, he prematurely spends the required points without retaining a sufficient reserve, leaving his account critically low. Takumu proposes transferring some of his own points, but Haruyuki refuses, citing the importance of earning them through fair combat. Seeking to reconcile with Chiyuri, the boys visit her home, where they share ice cream and provide a more thorough explanation of the Brain Burst program, leading to her gradual acceptance. During this conversation, Takumu suggests hiring a bodyguard known as Aqua Current to protect Haruyuki while his point total is vulnerable. Haruyuki follows the procedure to initiate contact and inadvertently discovers that Aqua Current, whose real name is Akira Himi, is a girl after a chance encounter in a café. Concurrently, Takumu goes to the hospital to meet with Kuroyukihime. Upon her arrival, she immediately activates her burst link, setting the stage for a direct confrontation between them. The episode concludes with these two parallel developments: Haruyuki's secured but complicated arrangement with his new bodyguard and the impending duel between Takumu and Kuroyukihime.
7Restoration
Kuroyukihime personally challenges Takumu to a duel, confronting him directly about his plan to quit the kendo team and eventually uninstall Brain Burst as an act of self-punishment for his betrayal. In a parallel storyline, the Burst Linker known as Aqua Current agrees to partner with Haruyuki in tag team matches to help him recover the points he lost. Haruyuki and Aqua Current face the opposing team of Nickel Doll and Sand Duct; despite initial difficulties against their coordinated attacks, Haruyuki's determination to protect his friendships drives him to coordinate effectively with his temporary partner. The pair secure victory, restoring Haruyuki's point total to 54. Following the match, Aqua Current unexpectedly challenges Haruyuki to a one-on-one duel, claiming she intends to claim all his points as payment for her assistance. Haruyuki refuses to fight back, demonstrating complete trust in her despite the apparent threat, which prompts Aqua Current to reveal the challenge was a test of his character. She advises him to treasure his connections with others before using her Memory Leak ability to erase his memories of their encounter and her identity. Concurrently, during her duel with Takumu, Kuroyukihime imparts that his desire to lose points and delete the program stems from misguided guilt, teaching him instead to rely on and trust his friends. The episode concludes with Takumu transferring into Haruyuki and Chiyuri's school; now wearing glasses, he expresses his wish to perceive the true world clearly with his own eyes, signaling his commitment to face reality rather than escape from it.
8Temptation
Haruyuki returns home to find a girl named Tomoko Saito, who claims to be his second cousin, staying at his house. She immediately ingratiates herself into his daily routine, acting in a familiar and overly affectionate manner. While they are in the bathroom together, Haruyuki notices the neural linker scar on her neck, which identifies her as a Burst Linker and reveals her true identity. Tomoko challenges Haruyuki to a duel in the Accelerated World, where she manifests her powerful virtual avatar, Scarlet Rain. As the Red King of the Prominence legion, she easily defeats Haruyuki's Silver Crow with her overwhelming artillery-based abilities. Following her victory, Tomoko issues a demand: Haruyuki must arrange a real-world meeting between her and his "parent," Kuroyukihime. When Haruyuki later meets with Kuroyukihime to relay this message, she reveals the history behind the request. Kuroyukihime explains that she was responsible for beheading the previous Red King, an act that solidified her position as a Level 9 and created lasting enmity with the Red Legion. This revelation frames the upcoming confrontation as one rooted in past betrayal and the complex politics of the game's highest-level players. The episode establishes Tomoko's deceptive nature and formidable power, while deepening the lore surrounding the Kings of Accelerated World.
9Escalation
The episode reveals that Haruyuki's young houseguest is Yuniko Kōzuki, the Red King known as Scarlet Rain in the Accel World. Yuniko proposes an alliance with Haruyuki, Kuroyukihime, and Takumu to defeat a member of her own legion who has been possessed by the Armor of Catastrophe, transforming into the fifth Chrome Disaster. Kuroyukihime provides context on the Armor's history, explaining it is a legendary Enhanced Armament that corrupts its wearer and which she believed had been destroyed after her battle with the fourth Chrome Disaster. The Red King requires Silver Crow's unique flight ability to approach the airborne Chrome Disaster so she can use a special attack to destroy the armor. Following the agreement to cooperate, Yuniko decides to stay overnight at Haruyuki's home while her parents are away. This development prompts Kuroyukihime, motivated by jealousy over Yuniko's proximity to Haruyuki, to also invite herself to stay. The episode balances this plot progression with character interactions, depicting the verbal sparring between the Black King and Red King as a central conflict. Haruyuki is left to navigate the domestic situation with both Kings in his apartment, aware of the future necessity to eventually battle them as he seeks higher levels. The episode establishes the immediate goal of hunting the Chrome Disaster while expanding the lore of Brain Burst through the history of the Armor of Catastrophe.
10Activation
Following the overnight stay of Kuroyukihime and Yuniko at his house, Haruyuki begins the day exhausted. Chiyuri expresses a desire to become a Burst Linker, prompting Kuroyukihime to explain the nature of the parent-child relationship within Brain Burst. It is revealed that a high-level Burst Linker can only attempt to install the program in a new user once, making the decision to become a parent a significant gamble. Haruyuki becomes curious about Kuroyukihime's own parent, but she only reveals that it was someone she once trusted and now considers an enemy. This revelation deepens the mystery surrounding the Black King's past and her motivations for creating the legion Nega Nebulus. Later, Yuniko explains to Haruyuki that the Accelerated World could theoretically end if any player reaches level ten, which would force the uninstallation of Brain Burst from all users, highlighting the high stakes of their conflict. The episode's main plot progresses as Haruyuki, Kuroyukihime, Takumu, and Yuniko enter the Unlimited Neutral Field to hunt for the rogue Burst Linker known as Chrome Disaster. This field is a persistent battlefield where duels have no time limit, intended for high-level combat. As they traverse this dangerous area, their mission is abruptly interrupted when they are ambushed by a squadron of Burst Linkers. The attackers are revealed to be the Yellow Legion, led by the Yellow King, Yellow Radio. Yuniko quickly deduces that Yellow Radio has orchestrated the ambush, setting a trap for the group. The episode concludes with the four members of Nega Nebulus surrounded and outnumbered, setting the stage for a difficult confrontation.
11Obligation
The episode begins with Haruyuki and Yuniko realizing that Yellow Radio was the one responsible for orchestrating the fifth Chrome Disaster incident, having hidden the Armor of Catastrophe. Yellow Radio exploits a loophole in the non-aggression pact among the Kings to launch an ambush on Nega Nebulus, using the treaty's terms as a justification to target Scarlet Rain and eliminate her to advance to Level 10. He neutralizes Black Lotus by displaying a recorded memory of her beheading the original Red King, Red Rider, a traumatic event that causes her to faint from shock and guilt. With Black Lotus incapacitated, Silver Crow, Scarlet Rain, and Cyan Pile are forced to defend themselves against the full force of the Yellow Legion. During the battle, Cyan Pile makes a sacrificial stand against the Legion's forces to buy the others precious time to escape, resulting in his temporary defeat. Takumu's selfless act allows Haruyuki and Yuniko to retreat, but their path is blocked by Yellow Radio's illusory special attack, which traps them in a disorienting merry-go-round. As the Yellow Legion begins to overwhelm them, Haruyuki desperately calls out to Kuroyukihime, urging her to remember her goals and the reasons she fights, which successfully awakens her from her stupor. Revived and resolute, Black Lotus swiftly annihilates the remaining members of the Yellow Legion before confronting Yellow Radio directly in what becomes the first recorded battle between two Level 9 Burst Linkers. Just as both Kings prepare to unleash their ultimate special attacks on one another, they are suddenly interrupted by the unexpected appearance of the Chrome Disaster avatar, which impales Yellow Radio from behind, creating a new and immediate threat.
12Absolution
Following Yellow Radio's retreat, the battle takes a turn with the emergence of Chrome Disaster, the avatar corrupted by the Armor of Destruction. Silver Crow is momentarily paralyzed by the entity's overwhelming power, prompting Black Lotus to engage it directly to restore her protégé's resolve. The conflict escalates when Scarlet Rain intervenes, attacking Chrome Disaster with her artillery. Although her assault also incapacitates Black Lotus, Silver Crow is assured that this apparent betrayal stems from Scarlet Rain's fear of forming bonds within Brain Burst. Chrome Disaster attempts to flee the Unlimited Neutral Field, but Silver Crow manages to counterattack by using his wire gadgets against the corrupted avatar. This allows Scarlet Rain to administer the Judgement Blow, a final attack that forcibly removes Cherry Rook, the avatar under the armor's control, from the Brain Burst program entirely. After the battle, Scarlet Rain expresses regret for becoming oblivious to her friend Cherry Rook's struggles after she reached Level 9. Although the Armor of Destruction appears to be destroyed, a faint voice is heard, and a small fragment of the armor latches onto Silver Crow's back unnoticed as the group logs out. Later, in the real world, Yuniko explains that Cherry Rook's desperate pursuit of power was driven by his family's impending move, fearing he would lose his connection to her outside of Brain Burst.
13Violation
Chiyuri successfully persuades Takumu to install the Brain Burst program on her neuro-linker, a process that both Takumu and Haruyuki approach with reluctance. The installation proves successful, and Chiyuri becomes a Burst Linker, gaining the Duel Avatar Lime Bell. A new school term begins, placing Haruyuki, Chiyuri, and Takumu in the same class, while Haruyuki observes Kuroyukihime behaving unusually during the entrance ceremony, leading him to suspect the presence of another Burst Linker among the incoming freshmen. Haruyuki and Takumu subsequently guide Chiyuri through her initial duels to help her understand the mechanics of Brain Burst, during which they discover her avatar possesses a healing ability. Reporting this finding to Kuroyukihime, Haruyuki learns that healers are exceptionally rare within the accelerated world, with the only other known healer being one of the Six Kings of Pure Color, placing Chiyuri in a potentially vulnerable position as a target for recruitment. Kuroyukihime then informs the group that she must depart for a school trip to Okinawa, leaving Haruyuki and the others responsible for defending the territory of their legion, Nega Nebulus, during her absence. Later, while observing Takumu compete in a kendo tournament, Haruyuki notices his opponent, a freshman named Seiji Nomi, exhibiting movements that appear to be accelerated. Despite this observation, an attempt to identify Nomi as a Burst Linker yields no results, as his name does not appear on the registry of active players, introducing a new element of conflict and mystery.
14Arrestation;策略
Following Takumu Mayuzumi's loss in a kendo match to the new transfer student, Seiji Nomi, the group suspects Nomi is using Brain Burst. Takumu deduces that Nomi's ability to move with superhuman speed in the real world is the Physical Burst command, which accelerates the user's consciousness for a few seconds at the cost of Burst Points. With Kuroyukihime leaving for a week-long school trip to Okinawa, Haruyuki and Takumu take on the responsibility of investigating Nomi to confirm he is a Burst Linker. Haruyuki follows Nomi after school, but Nomi uses visual masking to manipulate the augmented reality display on Haruyuki's Neurolinker, tricking him into entering the girls' shower room. Chiyuri Kurashima discovers Haruyuki there and is forced to hide him from other students to prevent a misunderstanding. The following day, Nomi confronts Haruyuki, revealing the trap was deliberate and showing him video footage from a hidden camera he placed in the shower room. Nomi blackmails Haruyuki, demanding he transfer Burst Points to him whenever requested. When Chiyuri attempts to defend Haruyuki, Nomi escalates the situation by publicly revealing the existence of the hidden camera, making it appear that Haruyuki planted it and framing him for voyeurism. As Nomi threatens Chiyuri, Haruyuki charges at him in anger; both activate Physical Burst, but Nomi's experience allows him to feint and knock Haruyuki down. Nomi forcibly establishes a direct link with Haruyuki's Neurolinker and initiates a duel in the Accelerated World, where he reveals his Duel Avatar, Dusk Taker.
15Destruction
The duel between Silver Crow and Dusk Taker commences, with Silver Crow initially gaining the upper hand through his superior speed and aviation ability. During the battle, Haruyuki deduces that Dusk Taker's higher level is a result of extorting points from other Burst Linkers rather than engaging in fair fights. As Dusk Taker's special gauge fills completely, he activates his ability, Demonic Command, which permanently steals Silver Crow's Aviation ability. Left without his wings and unable to effectively fight back, Silver Crow loses the match and a portion of his Burst Points. Following the duel in the real world, Seiji Noumi boasts that he will not return the stolen ability until he graduates, and he forces both Haruyuki and Chiyuri to keep the incident a secret from Takumu and Kuroyukihime. Haruyuki's attempts to conceal what happened create a strain in his friendship with Takumu, leading to a confrontation and a breakdown in their communication. Falling into a state of depression, Haruyuki becomes uncertain about his next actions and even contemplates uninstalling the Brain Burst program entirely. Needing to regain points, he enters the Unlimited Field and accepts a duel with Ash Roller, but without his wings, Silver Crow lacks the will to fight. Taking pity on Haruyuki's despondent state, Ash Roller transports him to the old Tokyo Tower within the Unlimited Field. There, Ash Roller introduces Silver Crow to his own parent and the predecessor in terms of aerial combat ability, a Burst Linker known as Sky Raker.
16Imagination
Sky Raker, introduced by Ash Roller, agrees to train Silver Crow in the use of the Incarnate System, a method of manifesting abilities through sheer willpower that transcends the normal rules of the Accelerated World. She explains that his lost wings were a product of his desire to fly, suggesting the ability can be reclaimed from within. During a subsequent conversation, Sky Raker reveals her own past obsession with flight, which led her to request that her friend, Kuroyukihime, sever her avatar's legs in an attempt to achieve true aviation. This backstory establishes the deep emotional stakes and the prior falling out between the two Burst Linkers. The training itself consists of Silver Crow climbing a vast tower in the Unlimited Neutral Field, a task complicated by an environmental shift that transforms the structure's surface into a smooth, impenetrable metal. Applying Kuroyukihime's earlier advice about the nature of his speed, Haruyuki begins to consciously apply the Incarnate System, focusing his will to create handholds and pierce the metal surface. After seven days of in-game effort, he successfully reaches the summit, awakening a new piercing ability. Satisfied with his progress, Sky Raker meets Haruyuki in the real world and gifts him her prized Enhanced Armament, the Gale Thruster, which grants its user a tremendous jumping boost. Haruyuki accepts the armament and promises to master flight through his own power so he can one day return it, also offering reassurance that the bond between Sky Raker and Kuroyukihime remains unbroken.
17Fragmentation
Haruyuki receives a video call from Kuroyukihime, who is away on a school trip, and her words reinforce his resolve to confront Nomi directly. During gym class, Takumu, having learned of Haruyuki's lost ability, directly challenges Nomi to a duel, deducing that Nomi would accelerate to cheat on a test. Cyan Pile enters the battle and initially gains the upper hand against Dusk Taker, but the confrontation reveals that Cyan Pile was aware that Silver Crow's wings had been stolen. Dusk Taker then employs the Incarnate System, manifesting powerful melee attacks that overwhelm Cyan Pile and demonstrate his knowledge of this advanced technique. To prevent Cyan Pile from losing all his Burst Points, Silver Crow tricks Dusk Taker into switching the duel to a Battle Royale mode, allowing him to join the fight. Applying his recent training in the Incarnate System from Sky Raker, Silver Crow manages to sever one of Dusk Taker's arms. In retaliation, Dusk Taker activates Silver Crow's stolen wings in conjunction with pyro equipment to fight in the air. Silver Crow equips the Gale Thruster, the external booster device received from Sky Raker, enabling him to match Dusk Taker's aerial mobility. With combined assistance from Cyan Pile, Silver Crow defeats Dusk Taker in the ensuing aerial battle. However, as Silver Crow prepares to deliver the final blow, Lime Bell suddenly appears on the battlefield and uses her healing ability to fully restore Dusk Taker, leaving both Silver Crow and Cyan Pile in shock. This intervention by Chiyuri reverses the outcome of the duel and introduces a new, immediate conflict for Haruyuki and Takumu.
18Invitation
The episode opens in Okinawa, where Kuroyukihime is participating in a school trip with her friend Megumi. While shopping for souvenirs, she is suddenly challenged to a duel by two local Burst Linkers, Ruka Asato and Mana Itosu. Kuroyukihime, as Black Lotus, decisively wins the match against her opponents, Lagoon Dolphin and Coral Merrow. Following the battle, the pair approach her with a request for assistance, leading to a meeting at a cafe in the real world. During this conversation, they reveal they are seeking her help for their master, who is fighting a monster plaguing their community within the Accelerated World. The discussion with the Burst Linkers causes Kuroyukihime to lose track of time, and she inadvertently forgets to buy a present for Megumi. Megumi becomes upset by this, prompting Kuroyukihime to offer a personal apology; she confides in Megumi that, throughout her seven years with Brain Burst, Megumi has been the one who kept her connected to the real world. The following day, Kuroyukihime enters the Unlimited Field with Ruka and Mana to finally meet their master. Upon arrival, the master is revealed to be an old acquaintance of Black Lotus: Crimson Kingbolt. This introduction sets the stage for a new conflict involving Kuroyukihime's past and the local Burst Linkers' struggle against a powerful Enemy.
19Revolution
Black Lotus's reunion with Crimson Kingbolt in Okinawa is interrupted by the sudden appearance of Sulfur Pot, a Burst Linker capable of taming Enemies. Sulfur Pot attacks using a massive, enslaved creature, revealing he is not a local Okinawa Burst Linker. Black Lotus deduces that he is from Tokyo, having used an illegal backdoor program to dive into the regional Unlimited Field. The battle turns against Black Lotus and her allies as they struggle against the controlled Enemy. In the real world, Megumi discovers the sleeping bodies of Kuroyukihime, Ruka, and Mana. Initially reaching to disconnect Kuroyukihime's Neurolinker, she hesitates after a vision of her younger self appears. Instead, Megumi connects a spare cable and dives into the Unlimited Field for the first time. Her avatar, Orchid Oracle, manifests and uses a unique ability to transition the landscape to an ocean phase, directly benefiting the aquatic avatars of Ruka and Mana. This environmental change allows the group to sever Sulfur Pot's control over his mount, which subsequently devours him. Following the battle, Crimson Kingbolt entrusts Black Lotus with the Enhanced Armament, Mystical Reins, the very item Sulfur Pot used to control Enemies. Upon returning to Tokyo, Black Lotus receives word that the investigation into Sulfur Pot has gone cold, leaving the question of his mysterious faction unanswered. It is also confirmed that Kuroyukihime did purchase a souvenir for Megumi, who retains no memory of her experience within the Accelerated World.
20Domination
Lime Bell enters the battlefield and uses her healing ability, Citron Call, to fully restore Dusk Taker, who had been severely weakened by the combined attack of Silver Crow and Cyan Pile. Fully recovered, Dusk Taker brutally defeats Cyan Pile after Cyan Pile charges at him in a fit of rage over Nomi's mistreatment of Chiyuri. Witnessing the horrific state of his friend, Silver Crow is consumed by rage, and a dark power awakens within him, urging him to destroy Dusk Taker. Silver Crow begins to manifest a sinister power similar to Dusk Taker's Incarnate ability, but the battle timer expires before the conflict can escalate further. Upon returning to the real world, Haruyuki and Takumu confront Chiyuri, who claims she has joined Nomi and his group of her own free will. Haruyuki suspects there is more to her decision and informs Takumu about the Incarnate System, suggesting they find a way for Takumu to learn it before facing Nomi again. Haruyuki becomes fearful of the dark power that surfaced within him during the battle. Later, Haruyuki and Takumu believe they may be able to learn about the Incarnate System from Yuniko Kozuki, also known as Scarlet Rain. At school, Haruyuki finds himself under suspicion regarding the camera found in the girls' shower room and endures further social torment, with only Sky Raker's past words about protecting his friends providing him support. Throughout these events, Seiji Nomi observes with a smirk, having orchestrated the devious situation.
21Insurrection
On their way to meet Yuniko Kozuki (Scarlet Rain), Haruyuki explains to Takumu Kurasaki how Seiji Nomi (Dusk Taker) manipulated events to put Chiyuri Kurashima in danger. Upon hearing their account of the conflict with Nomi, Yuniko agrees to instruct Haruyuki and Takumu in the use of the Incarnate System. She explains that this system allows Burst Linkers to manifest abilities through sheer willpower and imagination, detailing the different types of skills that can be performed with it. Silver Crow demonstrates the aerial blade technique he developed during his training with Sky Raker. Following Yuniko's suggestion, he names this ability 'Laser Sword' to make it easier to invoke. Yuniko elaborates that the specific skills an avatar can learn are intrinsically linked to the user's personal traumas. Takumu shares that his experiences of being bullied in elementary school, which left him with a physical scar, are the source of Cyan Pile's combat abilities. While Yuniko begins Takumu's Incarnate System training, Haruyuki logs out of the Accelerated World to investigate how Nomi is able to mask his presence from the matching list. He is joined by Yuniko's ally, Blood Leopard, who escorts him to Akihabara to conduct the investigation. They enter the Akihabara Battle Grounds, a neutral fighting arena for Burst Linkers located within the local virtual world. Their inquiry is complicated by the presence of another unlisted Burst Linker called Rust Jigsaw, who is causing disturbances in the area and ultimately enters the Dive Cafe where Haruyuki and Blood Leopard's real bodies are located.
22Determination
Blood Leopard enters herself and Haruyuki into a tournament in Akihabara with the specific intention of luring out the Burst Linker known as Rust Jigsaw, who is suspected of having a connection to Dusk Taker. Before the duel, she warns Haruyuki about the dangers of overusing the Incarnate System, explaining that relying on this power can erode a Burst Linker's sense of self and potentially lead to the phenomenon known as the Chrome Disaster. Rust Jigsaw accepts the challenge, and Haruyuki and Blood Leopard engage him in battle, successfully overcoming his jigsaw-blade attacks to secure a victory. Immediately following the duel, the pair return to the real world in an attempt to locate and identify Rust Jigsaw's user, but Haruyuki loses sight of the suspect in the crowd. The episode then shifts focus to Haruyuki's personal conflict as he confronts Chiyuri about her decision to team up with Seiji. Chiyuri, now actively participating in battles as Lime Bell, asserts her autonomy and states she is doing what she wants, leaving Haruyuki determined to reclaim what Seiji has taken from them. Later, while reviewing the data on Seiji, Haruyuki connects Rust Jigsaw's real-world gesture to the use of an illegal brain implant chip, a device that would allow Seiji to hide from the normal matching lists. Armed with this knowledge, Haruyuki confronts Seiji directly. In response, Seiji proposes a final, high-stakes duel in the Unlimited Field where the winner will claim all of the loser's Burst Points. Haruyuki accepts the challenge, setting the stage for a definitive confrontation before Kuroyukihime's return.
23Consolidation
As the arranged duel commences in the Unlimited Field, Chiyuri Kurashima requests to accompany Haruyuki and Takumu, who agree to let her witness the confrontation with Dusk Taker. The battle begins with a sudden ambush as a new Burst Linker, Black Vise, emerges to immobilize Silver Crow using a deceleration ability granted by a Brain Implant Chip. Cyan Pile engages Dusk Taker directly, manifesting his Incarnate System ability, Cyan Blade, which successfully severs one of Dusk Taker's arms by overcoming the limitations of his Demonic Commandeer power. Dusk Taker reveals his motivation, explaining he was forced to farm Burst Points for his older brother, his own parent in Brain Burst, until he gained enough strength to trap and repeatedly defeat his brother until he uninstalled the program. The conflict intensifies when Dusk Taker takes Lime Bell hostage, subjecting her to psychological and physical torment to break Cyan Pile's focus, resulting in Cyan Pile losing both arms. Silver Crow reaches a low point of despair but recovers his resolve through an internal connection to his avatar and memories of Kuroyukihime, allowing him to break free from Black Vise's confinement at the cost of his metallic armor. Just as Dusk Taker moves to finish Cyan Pile, Black Lotus arrives mounted on a high-level Enemy using reins acquired from Crimson Kingbolt. Black Vise formally introduces himself as a member of the Acceleration Research Society, the same organization to which Sulfur Pot belonged. Black Lotus declares them enemies for harming her legion members and engages Black Vise while commanding Silver Crow to rise and confront Dusk Taker directly.
24Reincarnation
Black Lotus engages Black Vise while Silver Crow equips the Gale Thruster to pursue Dusk Taker into the sky, initiating an aerial confrontation. Silver Crow lands a strike before the thruster's gauge depletes, then replenishes it through Incarnation to deliver a powerful blow. At that moment, Lime Bell activates Citron Call, enveloping both combatants. The ability heals Dusk Taker but simultaneously returns the stolen wings to Silver Crow, who merges them with the Gale Thruster for unlimited speed and finishes Dusk Taker with a Laser Sword attack. Lime Bell reveals her power is time reversal rather than healing, explaining she sided with Dusk Taker solely to level the ability and wait for the opportune moment to revert him to his state before acquiring the wings. Black Vise declines to intervene, informing Dusk Taker that his brain implant chip will dissolve upon Brain Burst's removal, then withdraws. Silver Crow lands the final blow, causing Dusk Taker to lose Brain Burst. Chiyu discloses she alerted Kuroyukihime to the situation beforehand and formally joins Nega Nebulus. In the real world, Haruyuki's name is cleared while Seiji retains no memories related to Brain Burst. Kuroyukihime returns from her school trip, and Haruyuki recounts the events, leading to an emotional reaffirmation of their bond. Haruyuki accompanies Kuroyukihime to return Sky Raker's Enhanced Armament, where Kuroyukihime and Fuuko reconcile and embrace, addressing each other by their real names for the first time.
