Simone Lupinacci
Description
Simone Lupinacci is an Italian voice actor known for his extensive work in dubbing anime series and films for the Italian audience. Born in Catanzaro in 1989, he developed an interest in acting from his adolescence, studying voice, diction, and phonetics at theatrical academies after high school. He furthered his education at the IULM University in Milan, graduating in Communication, Mass Media, and Advertising in 2012. His professional career in dubbing began in 2010, and he also started working as a dialogue writer in 2012.
Lupinacci's passion for animation was a driving force behind his career choice, leading him to pursue voice acting to bring animated characters to life. He is prominently known for voicing Izuku Midoriya, also known as Deku, the protagonist of the popular anime series My Hero Academia, a role he has performed across the main series, several movies including Two Heroes, Heroes: Rising, and World Heroes' Mission, and the special Make It! Do-or-Die Survival Training. He has described his long tenure as Deku as a significant personal and professional journey, connecting with the character's themes of perseverance and growth.
Another major role is Shoyo Hinata from the volleyball anime Haikyu!!, including its later seasons and specials. In the Fire Force series, he voices Sho Kusakabe, and in Cells at Work!, he is the voice of B Cell. He also voices Makoto Soda in the Captain Tsubasa reboot. Lupinacci has a notable association with the Pokémon franchise, voicing the inventor Lem (Clemont) in the Pokémon the Series: XY anime, as well as in several movies, including Diancie and the Cocoon of Destruction, Hoopa and the Clash of Ages, and Volcanion and the Mechanical Marvel. Early in his career, his first leading role in an anime was the title character in Capeta, a character to whom he felt particularly close.
