Description
"Saint Seiya: The Lost Canvas" is a prequel to the original "Saint Seiya" series, set in the 18th century during the Holy War between Athena and Hades. The narrative centers on Tenma, a young boy from Italy who becomes the Pegasus Saint, and his childhood friend Alone, who is revealed to be the reincarnation of Hades. The story explores their intertwined fates as they find themselves on opposing sides of the conflict.

The series begins with Tenma training at the Sanctuary to become a Saint, a warrior who protects Athena. His journey is marked by camaraderie with other Saints, including Sasha, who is later revealed to be Athena's reincarnation, and the stoic Gold Saints, such as Dohko of Libra and Shion of Aries. As the Holy War unfolds, Tenma and his allies face off against Hades' army of Specters, led by powerful commanders like Hypnos and Thanatos, the twin gods of sleep and death.

Alone, initially a kind and artistic soul, is manipulated by Hades' influence and transforms into the malevolent deity's vessel. This creates a tragic dynamic between Tenma and Alone, as the former struggles to save his friend while fulfilling his duty as a Saint. The narrative delves into themes of friendship, loyalty, and the burden of destiny, as Tenma and the Saints fight to protect humanity and prevent Hades from plunging the world into eternal darkness.

The series is structured around intense battles, with each Saint utilizing their unique Cloths and techniques to combat the Specters. The Gold Saints, in particular, play a pivotal role, showcasing their immense power and sacrifices to safeguard Athena and the Earth. The story builds toward a climactic confrontation in the Lost Canvas, a dimension created by Hades to trap souls and erase the world. The final arc focuses on the Saints' desperate efforts to destroy the Lost Canvas and defeat Hades, culminating in a bittersweet resolution that underscores the cyclical nature of the Holy War.

"Saint Seiya: The Lost Canvas" expands the lore of the "Saint Seiya" universe, offering a detailed exploration of the 18th-century Holy War while maintaining the core elements of the franchise, such as the bond between Saints and the eternal struggle between gods and humanity. The series balances action, emotional depth, and mythological storytelling, making it a compelling addition to the "Saint Seiya" saga.
