Born in Mexico City, he comes from a family deeply involved in the dubbing industry, being the son of actors Andrea Coto and Sergio Barrios, and brother to fellow voice actor Andrés Gutiérrez Coto. His work is prominent across various media, and he is frequently the designated Spanish voice for actors such as Christian Bale, Owen Wilson, and Viggo Mortensen.

In the realm of anime and animated projects, Gutiérrez Coto has built a substantial portfolio. Among his most recognized anime roles is Seiji Ozaki in the Latin American Spanish dub of the series Great Pretender.
