Shinji Kawada is a Japanese voice actor born on October 6, 1971, in Tochigi Prefecture, Japan. He is affiliated with the talent management firm Ken Production. Before entering the voice acting industry, Kawada worked as an office worker and in a bar, and was also involved in theater, which helped solidify his interest in acting. He made his debut as a voice actor in the year 2000, with one of his first roles being Yuu Kananase in the anime series Platinumhugen Ordian.

Kawada is known for his extensive and versatile body of work, providing voices for a wide array of characters in anime, video games, and OVAs. He has taken on many notable roles across various series. In the long-running Naruto franchise, he is well-known as the voice of Shino Aburame, a role he has reprised in multiple series including Naruto, Naruto: Shippuden, and Boruto: Naruto Next Generations. He also voiced Auruo Bossad in Attack on Titan. In addition to these, his filmography includes a multitude of other characters, such as Shingo Maezawa in Dragon Pilot: Hisone and Masotan, Issei Minagi in Slow Loop, George in Back Street Girls: Gokudols, Muran in Gundam Build Divers Re:RISE and its second season, Arbiter in In the Land of Leadale, Ritsma in Mobile Suit Gundam: Cucuruz Doan's Island, Mitsuya Nangu in Journal of the Mysterious Creatures, Mogwai in Strike The Blood III, Toshio Kotegawa in Grand Blue Dreaming, and Vox in Heroes ~Legend of Battle Disks~. His other prominent roles include Haruki Hanai in School Rumble, Ryutaro Mine in Nodame Cantabile, and Peter Parker / Spider-Man in Marvel Disk Wars: The Avengers. For some adult-oriented video games and OVAs, he has worked under the pseudonym Wassyoi Tarou.

Beyond his voice work, Kawada is also known for his passion for outdoor activities and sports, particularly bouldering. He manages and trains at a bouldering gym called BLEAU in Koenji, integrating his love for physical challenges with his daily life.
