Hiro Shimono is a Japanese voice actor and singer born on April 21, 1980, in Tokyo, Japan. He is affiliated with the talent agency I'm Enterprise. Shimono developed an interest in voice acting during his中学 years after watching the anime The Irresponsible Captain Tylor and listening to voice actor radio programs, which inspired him to pursue a career in the industry. He graduated from the Japan Narration Acting Institute and made his professional debut in 2001, with his first major anime role as Ayato Kamina in RahXephon in 2002.

Shimono has built an extensive career, lending his voice to a wide array of characters across numerous popular anime series. He is particularly well-regarded for his ability to portray both comedic and emotional roles with high energy and distinct vocal qualities. Some of his most prominent and internationally recognized roles include Zenitsu Agatsuma in Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba, Connie Springer in Attack on Titan, and Dabi in My Hero Academia. His filmography also includes key roles as Keima Katsuragi in The World God Only Knows, Akihisa Yoshii in Baka and Test - Summon the Beasts, Syo Kurusu in the Utano☆Princesama series, and Hanzō Urushihara in The Devil Is a Part-Timer!. In 2021, he was honored with the Most Voted Award at the 15th Seiyu Awards, an award voted on by fans. He has also been recognized by the Japan Karaage Association, being named Best Karaage Personality for multiple consecutive years. Shimono has been married for over ten years and announced the birth of his second child in the summer of 2021.
