Description
Peter Grill is the protagonist of Peter Grill and the Philosopher's Time: Super Extra. He is a human warrior and a member of the Brave Swordsmen's Guild, described as a handsome young man with a tall, well-built body, blue eyes, and spiky blond hair. Before the events of the story, he won the Grand Fighting Tournament, an international martial arts competition, and was crowned the strongest man in the world. He dedicated that victory to Luvelia Sanctos, the woman he loves, and used his newfound renown to gain permission from her father, Guildmaster Albatross Sanctos, to marry her. Peter had been dating Luvelia for two years and wanted to take their relationship further, though it had remained chaste because of her father's overprotective nature.

Peter is good-natured and deeply devoted to Luvelia, to the point that he would give his life for her. He possesses a strong sense of chastity and moral ethics, and his love for her is genuine. However, his reputation as the strongest man in the world makes him the target of women from many races and nations who seek his child in order to strengthen their own bloodlines, often with or without his consent. Peter struggles constantly to resist these advances, and his willpower is regularly tested. Although he wishes to remain faithful, he is sometimes unable to resist or finds himself forced into situations that betray his promise to Luvelia, leaving him guilt-ridden and desperate to hide what has happened.

As the central character, Peter drives the story through his efforts to balance his work as a warrior, his goal of marrying Luvelia, and the relentless attention of the women pursuing him. He works hard for the sake of his guild, and his victory raised his standing considerably. In Super Extra, he continues trying to concentrate on his heroic duties while managing an ever-growing circle of admirers and keeping his encounters with them secret from Luvelia and her father.

His relationship with Luvelia Sanctos is the emotional center of his character. He cares for her sincerely and dedicated his tournament victory to her, but the schemes of other women constantly strain that devotion. His relationship with Albatross Sanctos, the guildmaster and Luvelia's father, is difficult, since Albatross is obsessively protective of his daughter and looks for ways to end her relationship with Peter. Among the women who pursue Peter are the dragon Lisa Alpacas, the goblin Mimi Alpacas, the elf Vegan Eldriel, and the orc Piglette Pancetta, each drawn to his strength for the sake of their own people.

Over the course of the story, Peter's central conflict is the struggle between his desire to be an honorable and faithful man and the pressure his reputation places on him. His repeated lapses force him to confront his own weaknesses, and much of his development involves trying to make amends, protect his secrets, and preserve his hope of building a stable life with Luvelia.

As the strongest man in the world, Peter is an exceptionally capable fighter. He is a skilled swordsman who can defeat dangerous monsters and accomplished warriors without much difficulty, and he is resourceful enough to fight effectively even with improvised weapons. His combat prowess is the source of his fame and the reason so many different races seek out his lineage.
