Description
Shihō stands among the three rulers governing the Underworld, bearing the mantle of Justice to enforce laws and deliver punishments. Tasked with resolving clashes between the Legislator and the Executive, he bridges their opposing natures to preserve equilibrium.

His yōkai manifestation takes the shape of a massive leopard adorned with spotted fur, bracelets encircling his forepaws, and a golden tail ring etched with the emblem of Justice. In human guise, he retains feline traits through a speckled kimono, bandaged limbs, and a loosely tied ponytail clasped by gold. Perpetual weariness shadows his features, marked by dark under-eyes that mirror his relaxed disposition.

Though prone to lethargy and prolonged naps, he executes his responsibilities with precision, quelling disputes decisively and upholding legal codes without compromise. Beneath his languid facade lies a gentle spirit, evident when he retrieves Hanae Ashiya’s lost sandal or voices unease over the boy’s perilous circumstances. A self-proclaimed vegetarian, he occasionally betrays lingering predatory urges through instinctive drooling near other yōkai.

Shihō shifts seamlessly between forms, harnessing supernatural swiftness to ferry Ashiya across the Underworld. His rapport with the austere Executive, Gyōsei, remains cordial yet detached, his casual overtures often met with indifference. Decades prior, he mentored Haruitsuki Abeno during the youth’s apprenticeship under Aoi, the former Mononokean master, acquainting him with the realm’s complexities.

Guiding Ashiya through the Underworld, Shihō gradually cultivates a guarded camaraderie, insisting on overseeing the boy’s safety even amid unintended diversions. A moment of unthinking affection—Ashiya patting his head—flusters him visibly. He recognizes echoes of Aoi in Ashiya, noting their mutual knack for drawing yōkai through empathy rather than force.

His character embodies the tension between indolence and integrity, personifying the Ego that tempers the ruling triad’s dynamics. While his aloofness initially masks deeper intentions, his choices consistently champion equity and mercy, most starkly in shielding Ashiya from harm during their journeys—a testament to his unyielding dedication to justice’s compassionate core.
