Description
Cyborg 0018, designated Seth, was engineered alongside his fraternal twin sister Eva Maria Parallels in a secret Canadian facility as part of Dr. Edward Adams' "High-Teen Number" cyborg series for the Black Ghost organization. Genetically crafted as espers for cybernetic experimentation, Seth was specifically engineered as an intentional mutant, his psychic abilities harnessed through cybernetic augmentation. Approximately 18 years old during the main events, Seth underwent extreme bodily modification; only his brain remained organic while his entire skeleton was replaced by interconnected metal components and wires.
Seth possesses a slender build, pale skin, silver hair, and blue eyes, frequently depicted with an asymmetrical fringe veiling his right eye. Merging with the demon Atun dramatically altered his form: his eyes became demonic with contracted pupils, red facial tattoos appeared, his musculature increased, and his lower body transformed into a feather-like black demonic structure. His final evolution, identified in supplementary materials as Azazel, presents an angelic visage with white wings and a floating scarf, retaining his original facial features.
His core abilities—telepathy, telekinesis, and psychic shockwaves—originate from his engineered mutant physiology. Cybernetic enhancements include an accelerator granting superhuman speed and a self-repair system. Fusion with Atun amplified these powers, enabling disruption of other psychic abilities (even breaching his sister's force fields) and manifesting a violet accelerator aura.
Seth fell comatose during a Black Ghost training exercise after overexerting his psychic energy. Dr. Adams exploited this state for the "Cyborg Daemon" project, merging Seth's body with Atun. Eva cooperated under the false belief it would cure Seth. Awakening fully possessed by Atun, the merged entity killed Adams, assaulted Eva, and battled Devilman and the 00 Cyborg team. An anti-energy wave during the conflict irreversibly fused Seth and Atun into Azazel, a being claiming to transcend both identities. Azazel slaughtered several High-Teen Number cyborgs. Eva, empowered by Cyborg 001, performed an astral projection to reach Seth's consciousness, separating his soul from Atun. Seth died peacefully while his body reverted to Atun's demonic form; Eva succumbed to her injuries moments later.
Trivia notes: Seth's design draws inspiration from Jun, a recurring Shotaro Ishinomori character known for silver hair and youthful features. Concept art featured him in an unused black High-Teen cyborg uniform with silver accents. His name, like his sister Eva and fellow cyborgs Cain (0016) and Abel (0017), follows a biblical theme, referencing Adam and Eve's third son.
