Description
Daimon Hanakawa is a high school student who has had the unusual experience of being summoned to a fantasy world not once, but twice. He is a short, chubby young man with a round build, white skin, straight black hair, and black eyes, typically seen in his school uniform. He speaks with an old-fashioned, polite samurai dialect that stands out among his peers.

Before the main events of the story, Hanakawa was first summoned to another world by the Head Magician of the Iman Kingdom as part of a hero party tasked with defeating the Devil. He served as the party’s healer and, after successfully completing that quest, was sent back to his original world. This prior adventure gave him a significant advantage when he was later summoned again, as he retained his experience and high level.

Upon his second summoning, which was orchestrated by a woman named Sion, Hanakawa found himself on a school bus with his classmates, including the protagonists Yogiri Takatou and Tomochika Dannoura. His personality is contradictory. On one hand, he is a self-absorbed otaku who frequently makes crude and annoying remarks, and he was complicit in a plan to use a brainwashing collar to enslave two female classmates, showing a deeply selfish and morally compromised side that causes most others to regard him with disgust. On the other hand, outside of his otaku obsessions, he can be pragmatic, observational, and sometimes acts as a voice of reason. He is fundamentally a coward who talks big when he feels he has powerful backing but is quick to surrender and prioritize his own survival when genuinely threatened.

His role in the story is defined by his relationship with Yogiri. He and a few other classmates attempted to ambush Yogiri and Tomochika, but the plan failed catastrophically. Witnessing Yogiri’s terrifying instant death ability firsthand and seeing his allies killed made Hanakawa realize the overwhelming power he was dealing with. He was the only attacker spared, though he was banished. Despite his desire to stay far away from Yogiri, he becomes unwillingly and persistently entangled in the protagonist’s journey, serving as a source of information about the other world and often being dragged from one dangerous situation to another. He later befriends a character named Lute, one of the Dark God's spawns, and continues traveling with him.

Hanakawa possesses abilities that make him an exceptional support character, even if his direct combat skills are only average. His primary power is his Healer class, which grants him a level 99 healing ability, the maximum possible for a human. This cheat-like ability, named Heal, can completely restore any injury or illness, even allowing him to regrow a lost limb. However, he is often forced to use this powerful magic on himself to recover from the brutal consequences of his repeated misfortune. Later in the story, he gains several other significant powers. From a being named Malna-Rilna, he receives the power to Summon Anything, which can teleport him to a designated location or summon another creature with its consent. He also attains a high-level Monk Class, which provides skills like Illusionary Fist to create false images, Spiritual Refinement to temporarily enhance his physical abilities and senses, Spirit Projectiles for energy blasts, and Discernment to gather information on a target. Finally, the Great Sage grants him the Friendship Counter, an ability that lets him summon allies from his past with whom he shares strong bonds.

Throughout his journey, Hanakawa is a magnet for trouble, suffering a long string of accidents and near-death experiences, yet he is also abnormally lucky enough to survive them all. By the conclusion of the story, after the deity of the other world decides to abolish all cheat abilities, Hanakawa loses his powers. Because he is considered below average without his abilities, he is shown mercy and is safely sent back to his original world, ending his tumultuous adventures.
