Description
Pegasus Tenma is the main character of Saint Seiya: The Lost Canvas and serves as the Pegasus Bronze Saint of the 18th century, active during the Holy War against Hades that unfolds in 1743. He is a fifteen-year-old orphan of Japanese ancestry who was raised in an Italian orphanage alongside two other children, Alone and Sasha. The three were brought up like siblings, and that bond becomes the emotional center of his entire story. It is later revealed that Tenma's father is Mephistopheles Yōma, a Specter in the service of Hades, and that his mother, Partita, also belongs to Hades' army, a lineage that places him in an unusual position between both sides of the war.
Tenma's connection to the Pegasus constellation is not limited to his own lifetime. Since the mythical age, the soul of the Pegasus Saint has reincarnated each time Athena returns to Earth, and it is the Pegasus Saint's destiny to stand at the goddess's side while wielding strength capable of killing gods. Tenma is therefore not only a young trainee but also the newest bearer of an ancient legacy that ties him to Athena and to the eternal struggle against Hades.

Afterward, Asmita's blood is used to repair his damaged Pegasus Cloth, which takes on a form identical to the one worn by the Pegasus Saint of a later era.
Tenma's development reaches its peak when his mother, Partita, engages him in battle while serving as a Specter. Pushed to the brink, Tenma's cosmos awakens fully to the Seventh Sense, and his repaired Cloth turns golden in color and gains a new appearance before being shattered by Partita. When she extracts his soul, which takes the shape of a Pegasus, Tenma manages to reclaim it, and a spiritual feather from his soul touches the blood-stained fragments of the Cloth, bringing about the resurrection of the Pegasus God Cloth. Wearing it, he defeats Partita and shares a moment of remembrance with her before her death. His reunion with his father Yōma is cut short by the return of Gemini Aspros, who finally destroys the Specter, leaving Tenma to continue alone toward his final confrontation with Alone.
