Shinichirō Miki

Description
Shinichirō Miki is a veteran Japanese voice actor born on March 18, 1968, in Tokyo, Japan. He is affiliated with the talent agency 81 Produce. Miki began his career in 1989 and has since become a highly respected and recognizable figure in the anime industry.

Miki is known for his distinctively smooth voice and often calm delivery, which has led to him being frequently cast in roles of handsome or cool-headed young men. His range, however, is extensive, allowing him to portray a wide variety of characters across different genres. Some of his most iconic and long-running roles include Kojirō, known as James in English adaptations, in the long-running Pokémon franchise, and Takumi Fujiwara, the protagonist of the street racing anime Initial D. He has also lent his voice to many other prominent characters, such as the pragmatic Roy Mustang in Fullmetal Alchemist: Brotherhood, the eccentric Kisuke Urahara in Bleach, the twin characters Lockon Stratos in Mobile Suit Gundam 00, and the ronin Tatsuma Sakamoto in Gintama. His recent work includes roles like Tanjuro Kamado in Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba, Shuichi Saito in the 2024 anime adaptation of Junji Ito's Uzumaki, and Shōzō Saitō in the series Jiisan Baasan Wakagaeru.

Beyond his voice work, Miki is also a singer and was a member of the popular four-man band Weiß, which he formed in 1997 alongside fellow voice actors Takehito Koyasu, Tomokazu Seki, and Hiro Yūki. This collaboration was tied to their work on the anime Weiß Kreuz. He has a well-documented friendship and frequent professional partnership with Tomokazu Seki, with the two having co-starred in numerous projects since the mid-1990s.

Miki's talent and contributions to the voice acting industry have been recognized with several prestigious awards. In 2010, he won the Best Supporting Actor award at the 4th Seiyu Awards for roles including Roy Mustang in Fullmetal Alchemist: Brotherhood and Lockon Stratos in Mobile Suit Gundam 00. Four years later, in 2014, he received the Tomiyama Award at the 8th Seiyu Awards, an honor given to a voice actor for their overall body of work and contributions to the industry.
