Description
Jin Norizuki is a central antagonist in King of Prism: PRIDE the HERO, serving as a formidable rival to the protagonists of Edel Rose. Born on July 18, he stands 175 centimeters tall with brown hair and blue eyes. His name carries an ironic contrast, as the character for Jin means compassion, a trait he rarely exhibits in his calculated and ruthless pursuit of power.
As the son of Kou Norizuki and the half-brother of Hijiri Himuro, Jin's background is deeply rooted in the competitive world of Prism Shows. He was once a celebrated Prism Star who pioneered the popularization of prism shows, and he even developed the advanced technique known as Prism Act. However, his competitive career was marred by scandal and underhanded tactics; he secured the title of Prism King after orchestrating an accident that injured his half-brother Hijiri and taking advantage of a rival’s subsequent forfeit.
Following his retirement from performing, Jin became the supervisor of the prestigious Edel Rose academy. In this role, he corrupted its noble values, imposing a ruthless doctrine of absolute perfection and beauty. He created a cutthroat environment where minor mistakes led to expulsion, and he employed blackmail, bribery, and theft to maintain control, notably forcing Hiro Hayami to steal a song and bribing officials to ban rivals from competitions. His tyrannical reign ended when his father, Kou Norizuki, discovered his atrocities and fired him from Edel Rose.
Driven by a deep-seated resentment towards his half-brother Hijiri and a burning desire for revenge against Edel Rose, Jin established a new, rival Prism Star training school called Schwarz Rose. Inheriting a significant portion of his father's wealth, he cut funding to Edel Rose and transferred many of its students to his new institution, driving his former academy to the brink of financial ruin. In King of Prism: PRIDE the HERO, Jin acts as the CEO of Schwarz Rose, deploying talented prodigies like Louis Kisaragi and Alexander Tokorov to defeat Edel Rose in the Prism King Cup. His tactics remain unscrupulous, including manipulating scoring systems and attempting to sabotage the competition venue. However, his plans are ultimately thwarted by Hiro Hayami, who exposes a stolen song's origins and defeats Jin's students, leading to Jin's public humiliation.
Jin's primary motivations stem from a toxic combination of sibling rivalry and a need for vindication. He harbors an intense hatred for his half-brother Hijiri, whose natural talent stood in stark contrast to Jin's own relentless dedication, and whom their father seemed to favor. His actions are not merely those of a businessman but of a man seeking to destroy what he believes took everything from him. Despite his cold and calculating exterior, moments of complexity emerge. He shows a protective and remorseful side towards his student Louis Kisaragi, expressing genuine distress when Louis collapses during a performance. He also scoffs at victories achieved through unfair technological interference, insisting that his school must win on its own merit, hinting at a buried sense of pride in the art itself. After his defeat in PRIDE the HERO, Jin receives an unexpected moment of kindness from June Amou, who kisses his cheek and tells him that someone who loves him will appear one day, leaving him in tears as he is comforted by Louis. His ultimate fate is left ambiguous, with reports suggesting he later establishes a new prism show group.
