TV-Series
Description
Innocent Zero is the primary antagonist of the series and the leader of a criminal organization that bears his name. He was once a student at Easton Magic Academy, studying alongside Wahlberg Baigan and Meliadoul under the tutelage of the legendary wizard Adam Jobs. However, driven by an insatiable ego and a selfish ambition to become the strongest being, he left the academy to build his own dark network involved in murder, human trafficking, and other illicit activities. At over one hundred years old, his true identity is that of the biological father of the protagonist, Mash Burnedead, as well as the so-called "Devil's Quintuplets": Cell, Domina, Epidem, Delizasta, and Doom.
Personality wise, Innocent Zero is defined by his profound selfishness and a warped sense of superiority. He operates from the belief that everyone and everything exists solely for his benefit. His primary motivation is not born from a tragic past or a noble cause, but from a simple, primal desire for absolute security and dominion. His ultimate goal is to achieve immortality and become a "perfect being" by collecting the hearts of his six blood relatives, after which he intends to rule the world unchallenged. He views his own children, including Mash, as mere tools or ingredients to be used for his ascension. When interacting with his followers, he adopts the persona of "Father," though this title demands respect rather than implies affection, as he raises his children to serve his ambitions. Despite his cold and calculating nature, his haughty demeanor can quickly crumble into bitter anger when he is cornered or defied.
In the story, Innocent Zero serves as the ultimate threat and the mastermind behind the most dangerous events at Easton Magic Academy. He first makes his presence known during the Divine Visionary Selection Exam, revealing himself to Wahlberg Baigan and Mash. His role is to act as a dark mirror to the protagonist, proving that raw power without humanity is tyrannical. He directly confronts the established magical order, easily defeating powerful wizards and stealing their magic to add to his own arsenal. His siege of the academy forces an alliance between Mash, his friends, the Divine Visionaries, and even former enemies to oppose a common existential threat.
His key relationships are defined by exploitation and predation. He is the former star pupil turned betrayer of Adam Jobs, whose dark magic he stole. He holds a similar predatory dynamic with Wahlberg Baigan, whom he ambushes to steal his space magic. His most complex relationship is with Mash Burnedead. As Mash's biological father, Innocent Zero seeks to absorb his son's extraordinary physical prowess, believing it to be the final component necessary for his own perfection. Unlike his other children, Mash rejects the role of a tool, leading to a climactic confrontation between father and son.
Throughout the narrative, Innocent Zero undergoes significant physical development as his power increases. Initially appearing in a relatively human form, he begins to shapeshift and grow monstrous features, such as horns, as he absorbs more power. During a solar eclipse, he reaches a peak transformation into a giant demonic entity. Even after being defeated, he is capable of reviving into a "god" form, characterized by a glowing halo and a faceless visage with deep, hollow sockets, which causes onlookers to worship him as a deity. This evolution reflects his overarching theme of abandoning humanity in a reckless pursuit of godhood.
In terms of abilities, Innocent Zero is widely regarded as the strongest magic user in history. His innate magic is called Timez, which grants him dominion over time itself. He can accelerate, decelerate, or completely stop time for those around him, making him nearly untouchable in combat. He is also capable of stealing the magical abilities of others by simply pointing his wand at a target. This has allowed him to amass an arsenal of stolen spells. The most notable of these are Dark, stolen from his master Adam Jobs, which can erase anything it touches from existence, and Spaces, stolen from Wahlberg Baigan, which allows him to warp reality at will. As a triple-liner, he can summon the power of gods through his wand, specifically Chronos, the god of time, and Uranus, the god of the sky, to amplify his abilities to cataclysmic levels. However, his body is imperfect and struggles to contain the sheer volume of magic he accumulates, sometimes causing his form to destabilize.
