Description
Davie W. John, also known by his hero name Stardust, is a British hero in his late twenties who stands 179 centimeters tall. His civilian identity is public knowledge, a rarity among heroes, and he is also a world-renowned rock star. He has spiky blond hair, small tired-looking blue eyes often hidden behind red sunglasses, and noticeable bags under his eyes that have been present since childhood. In his hero costume, he wears a black bodysuit with a gold five-pointed star on the chest, white boots with star designs, and a beige coat over it, slicking his hair back except for a single lock in front of his face.

Stardust is known among both heroes and civilians for appearing apathetic and heartless, speaking in a straightforward manner without hesitation about harsh topics. He is observant and suspicious, often judging people quickly based on appearance and gestures, and initially dismissed the protagonist Shy as incapable due to her gentle nature. He claims not to be bothered by comments about his lack of feelings, but this has clearly affected him since his younger years, when he would get into fights over being called heartless. The reason he became a hero is paradoxical he saves people while simultaneously keeping them at a distance, using his public persona as a shield. Despite his cold exterior, he has shown kindness, such as praising others cooking and acting as a philanthropist. When Shy tells him that he has a heart, he is stunned, as only one friend had ever said that to him before.

Stardust was born lacking the ability to feel empathy for others, a condition that caused him great distress from a young age. Rather than letting this defeat him, he continuously sought to understand what he was missing, which drove him to become a top-tier hero on the global stage. A friend once advised him to become the most gentle person on Earth, advice he took seriously. In addition to his hero work, he became a famous rock musician, using song to express the emotions he could not convey with words. He has donated over five billion dollars to charitable causes and founded the international relief organization Black Cross, demonstrating his commitment to helping the world's vulnerable even without innate compassion.

His role in the story begins when he encounters Shy, whom he initially dismisses as weak. He ends up fighting her as part of her training, easily overpowering the inexperienced heroine and redirecting all her attacks without moving much. Through this conflict, however, he comes to find her determination and refusal to give up genuinely interesting. Their fight leads to significant development for both characters, as Shy sees through his tough exterior and recognizes that he is not truly emotionless but rather someone who struggles to connect with others. This interaction permanently impacts his mentality, as he begins to wonder if he might also be capable of the same naivety and heartfelt conviction that Shy displays.

One of his key relationships is with his friend who encouraged him to pursue gentleness, though the specifics of this person remain in the background. He also provokes the hero known as Spirit, who openly hates him, seeming unbothered by her animosity. Through his Black Cross organization, he works alongside other heroes such as the Swiss hero Vilor Dunes. His relationship with Shy evolves from dismissive judgment to mutual respect, as her unwavering empathy challenges his worldview.

Stardusts primary ability, granted by his Heart Conversion Bracelets, is the power to control all types of flows around him, including heat, air, and physical forces. Using this power called Flow, he can redirect virtually anything thrown at him, from physical strikes to energy attacks, making him an immensely challenging opponent. His fighting style relies on this defensive redirection, and during his fight with Shy, she could not land a single hit until she discovered her flame ability. His signature offensive technique is Ashes to Stardust, a powerful high-speed kick that leaves a trail of stardust in the shape of a five-pointed star or constellation behind it. This move was powerful enough to significantly injure powerful opponents.
