TV-Series
Description
Cyber X is the alias of Takuya Saotome, a mysterious figure who appears to be an older, heavyset man wearing a distinctive red trench coat, a yellow hat, and a specialized helmet that has an opening to allow him to drink, which he uses to consume his favorite beverage, milk. His true physical form, which is not revealed until late in the story, is that of an obese man whose body is forcibly contained within a mechanical muscle suit. Beneath the helmet and suit, he has green hair and wears orange-lensed glasses with red trim.

His background is one of the most significant revelations in the series. Takuya Saotome is a descendant of the main protagonist, Kazuya Saotome, and works as a developer of cyberdolls for the Cyberdyne Corporation in the future. His interest in Kazuya is not random; he is there to observe and guide the work of his own ancestor, particularly Kazuya's research into artificial intelligence, which will eventually become the foundation for the Maid Program used in all cyberdolls.

Cyber X's personality is enigmatic and calculated. He operates from the shadows, carefully observing events and intervening at key moments to ensure things unfold in a particular way. Despite his imposing and somewhat comical appearance, he is serious about his mission. He demonstrates a genuine interest in Kazuya's work and a willingness to support it, as shown when he gifts Kazuya a full-sized body for May. He shares Kazuya's simple fondness for milk, a trait that highlights their familial connection across time.

His primary motivation is to safeguard the timeline and ensure the proper development of the technology that will lead to the creation of cyberdolls. He acts as a behind-the-scenes benefactor for Kazuya, subtly guiding him and providing him with the tools and opportunities needed to advance his research. For instance, after May is repossessed, Cyber X fully introduces himself and grants Kazuya's request to have her returned, even upgrading her to a human-sized model as a bonus. He is also deeply involved in resolving the retro-cybervirus crisis that threatens the cyberdoll population.

In the story, Cyber X serves as a mysterious patron and a link to the future. He first appears early on, watching over May from a distance and surreptitiously leading Kazuya to her when she gets lost in the city. His role becomes more active in the latter half of the series, where his true nature as Kazuya's descendant is revealed. He is directly responsible for providing the full-sized May and plays a crucial part in combating the cybervirus. His companion and apparent caretaker is the cyberdoll Mami, who is later revealed to look after him.

The key relationship of Cyber X is with Kazuya Saotome, his ancestor. He views Kazuya not as a subject to be manipulated but as a genius to be nurtured, respecting his work in artificial intelligence. His relationship with the cyberdoll Mami is also significant, as she serves as his caretaker. He is also connected to the character Commando Z, whose real name is Kotaro Nanbara, the future descendant of Kazuya's rival, and together they are implied to be responsible for orchestrating the initial delivery of the small-scale May to Kazuya.

The development of Cyber X moves from a mysterious, almost background observer to a central figure in the resolution of the series' main conflict. His identity is the central mystery surrounding his character, and its unveiling recontextualizes his earlier actions as a benevolent, if cryptic, guardian of history. His involvement is crucial for overcoming the final threat, as his incredibly fast typing skills, demonstrated during the virus incident, help save the cyberdolls.

Regarding notable abilities, Cyber X possesses typing skills of an almost superhuman level. He is able to type with such tremendous speed and accuracy, even with one hand, that he can match lengthy and complex passwords, a skill that proves vital during the cybervirus incident. Beyond this physical dexterity, his true power lies in his advanced knowledge of future technology and his strategic understanding of how past events must unfold to ensure his own existence and the creation of cyberdolls.
