Description
Train Heartnet, known as "Black Cat," is a skilled assassin working for the secret organization Chronos, which maintains global order through covert operations. Despite his proficiency, Train grows disillusioned with his role, questioning the morality of his actions. His life changes when he encounters Saya Minatsuki, a cheerful and kind bounty hunter who challenges his worldview. Saya's optimism and belief in second chances inspire Train to reconsider his path, leading him to abandon Chronos and seek a new life as a bounty hunter.

After Saya's tragic death at the hands of Creed Diskenth, a former Chronos operative turned rogue, Train vows to honor her memory by living a life free of killing. He adopts her ideals, carrying a toy gun as a symbol of his commitment. Train forms a partnership with Sven Vollfied, a skilled sweeper (bounty hunter) with the ability to see a few seconds into the future, and Eve, a genetically engineered girl with shape-shifting abilities. Together, they take on various missions, often crossing paths with Creed, who seeks to overthrow Chronos and create a new world order.

Creed, driven by a nihilistic philosophy and a desire for chaos, assembles a group of powerful allies known as the Apostles of the Stars. His vendetta against Train stems from their shared past in Chronos and his obsession with proving that humanity is inherently corrupt. As Train and his team confront Creed and his followers, they uncover deeper conspiracies involving Chronos and the true nature of their world. The narrative explores themes of redemption, free will, and the struggle to define one's identity in a world shaped by violence and manipulation.

The series balances action-packed sequences with character-driven moments, delving into the backstories of key figures such as Sven, Eve, and Rinslet Walker, a skilled thief who occasionally aids the group. Train's journey from a cold-blooded assassin to a compassionate bounty hunter serves as the central arc, while the supporting characters contribute to the overarching narrative with their own growth and motivations. The story culminates in a climactic showdown between Train and Creed, resolving their personal conflict while addressing the broader implications of their actions on the world around them.

1The Solitary Cat
Train Heartnet,a sweeper known as Black Cat, arrives in a city to capture Lion, a criminal who has stolen a briefcase containing a bio-weapon. Lion and his gang occupy a hotel, preparing to sell the weapon to an anonymous buyer. Sven Vollfied, another sweeper, pursues the same target to claim the bounty and repay his debts. Train and Sven meet in the hotel lobby, each demanding the other yield the claim. When Lion’s men surround them, Train draws his custom pistol Hades and fires, while Sven activates his suit’s Oracle vision, which projects a few seconds into the future. The two sweepers fight through the hotel, eliminating Lion’s guards. Lion attempts to escape by helicopter from the roof, but Train shoots down the aircraft, forcing Lion to surrender. Train retrieves the briefcase, opens it, and destroys the bio-weapon inside with a single shot, explaining he has no intention of letting such a weapon circulate. Sven, left with no bounty money, angrily demands compensation for his wasted effort. Train offers to share a meal instead, revealing his detached attitude toward money and his past as an assassin for the international organization Chronos. Chronos now views Train’s departure as a liability and begins tracking his movements. Sven, reluctantly impressed by Train’s skills and realizing he cannot beat him in a direct confrontation, agrees to a temporary partnership. Train accepts, seeing no disadvantage in traveling alongside someone who can see the future. The episode ends with both sweepers leaving the city together, while Chronos dispatches a team to retrieve Train by any means.
2The Cat's Laugh
Sven Vollfied accepts a request to apprehend the art thief Maro, who uses his sculpting skills to create explosive replicas. Train Heartnet accompanies Sven, though he shows little interest in the mission's monetary reward. They locate Maro in an abandoned factory where he displays his latest sculpture. Maro activates a bomb hidden within a statue, forcing Train and Sven to evade the blast. Sven uses his precognitive ability, which allows him to see a few seconds into the future, to guide Train through the traps. Train reacts with superhuman speed, disabling Maro’s secondary explosives. Maro attempts to escape, but Train shoots the detonator from his hand. Sven restrains Maro with his wire-based weapon. After securing the bounty, Sven notes that Train’s skills resemble those of a Chronos Number. Train deflects the comment, stating he no longer works for Chronos. The episode concludes with a brief scene of Creed Diskenth observing Train from a distance, indicating his continued interest in the former assassin.
7A Wounded Cat - Faraway Look
Train Heartnet,Sven Vollfied, and Eve arrive in a city to hunt a bounty. They encounter Jenos Hazard, a former Chronos Numbers assassin now working as a bounty hunter. Jenos and Train both track the same target, a criminal named Gordo. Jenos reveals his resentment toward Train for leaving Chronos and abandoning their shared past. Train remains focused on the mission, showing no interest in rekindling their rivalry. Sven and Eve observe the tension between the two ex-assassins. Jenos captures Gordo first, but Train intervenes to secure the bounty for himself. The two engage in a brief fight, with Train using his superior speed and his Orihalcon bullet technique to disarm Jenos. Jenos accuses Train of clinging to a naive sense of justice. Train counters that he now chooses his own path, free from Chronos’ control. After the confrontation, Jenos leaves, still bitter but acknowledging Train’s strength. Sven questions Train about his past, but Train deflects, reaffirming his commitment to his current companions. Eve silently watches, gaining further insight into Train’s resolve. The group collects the bounty and continues their journey. A Chronos observer reports Train’s movements to the organization, confirming that his former masters remain interested in his activities.
8The Departing Cat
Train Heartnet abandons his assassin identity and walks away from the Chronos organization, ignoring their order to remain. Sven Vollfied receives a directive to eliminate Train but hesitates, questioning the organization's motives. Creed Diskenth dispatches a squad of Apostles to capture Eve, a bio-engineered girl with nanomachines in her body. Train discovers Eve hiding in an abandoned building and shields her when Creed’s soldiers attack. Sven arrives at the scene and, instead of executing his assignment, fires on the Apostles to protect Train and Eve. Train and Sven coordinate their attacks, forcing the Apostles to retreat. Eve witnesses their willingness to risk their lives for her and chooses to follow them. Creed observes the outcome from a distance and declares he will personally deal with Train. The three escape the battle together, with Train accepting Sven’s offer to form a temporary partnership. They set course for the city of Torino, where Chronos holds a strong presence and Creed’s next move remains unknown.
9The Chosen Way
Train Heartnet,Sven Vollfied, and Eve arrive in a city and immediately encounter a group from the Apostles of the Stars. Creed Diskenth confronts Train directly, attempting to persuade him to abandon his current companions and return to his former life as an assassin for Chronos. Train refuses, stating that he has chosen his own path alongside Sven and Eve. Creed responds by ordering his underlings to attack, forcing Train into combat. Train draws his specialized pistol, the Black Cat, and fires precise shots that disable opponents without killing them, demonstrating his commitment to his new code. Sven uses his foresight to predict enemy movements and protect Eve, while Eve deploys her nanomachines to counter attacks and restrain several assailants. The fight reveals Creed’s escalating obsession with Train, as he taunts and pressures Train to kill again. Train counters with a combination of speed and marksmanship, driving back the Apostles without inflicting fatal wounds. After the battle, the group regroups, and Train explicitly reaffirms his decision to live as a sweeper rather than an assassin. Creed withdraws with his remaining forces, declaring that he will eventually force Train to embrace his true nature, setting the stage for their next confrontation.
10Episode 10
Train and Saya arrive at the mansion where Creed Diskenth has gathered his Apostles of the Stars. Creed offers Train a place at his side, proposing to build a new world order through force. Train refuses, stating he will not kill for anyone’s ideology. Creed attacks, his superior speed and power forcing Train on the defensive. Saya steps in, using her own combat skills to shield Train, but Creed’s attacks overwhelm her. Creed lands a fatal blow on Saya, killing her before Train can intervene. Train unleashes a burst of power, but Creed withdraws with his followers as the mansion begins to collapse. Sven and Eve pull Train from the rubble, and he carries Saya’s body out in silence. Train discards his sweeper badge, declaring he will pursue Creed to the end. The encounter solidifies Train’s abandonment of his former detached stance and sets him on a direct path of confrontation with the Apostles of the Stars.
11The Creeping Cat
Train Heartnet,Sven Vollfied, and Eve board a passenger train traveling toward a district under the influence of the Apostles of the Star. A sniper named Shiki, acting on Creed Diskenth’s orders, takes position on a ridge overlooking the tracks to eliminate Train. Sven’s precognition alerts him to the attack; he pushes Train aside and takes a bullet in the shoulder, forcing Eve to use her nanomachines to stabilize him. Train jumps from the moving train and scales the ridge to confront Shiki directly. Shiki explains that Creed ordered the assassination to remove anyone who might interfere with his plan to overthrow Chronos and reshape the world. Train disarms Shiki without killing him, reaffirming his decision to abandon his former assassin methods. While Train is away, a second Apostle hidden among the passengers attempts to seize control of the train car by taking hostages. Eve neutralizes the attacker by transforming her arm into a barrier and striking him down before he can harm anyone. After the confrontation, the group learns that Creed has already dispatched multiple Apostles to hunt down Chronos numbers across the region. Train resolves to accelerate their search for Creed’s hideout, knowing that Chronos will soon retaliate and that his own past ties to both factions will force him into the center of the coming conflict.
12Fighting Spirit Determined
Train Heartnet arrives in a coastal town with Sven Vollfied and Eve. Sven gathers intelligence on Creed Diskenth’s recent movements while Train keeps his distance, refusing to engage the Apostles of the Star. Eve isolates herself to practice controlling her nanomachines, frustrated by her repeated failures. Creed dispatches the Apostle Lin Shaoley to capture Eve. Lin corners Eve with thread-based attacks, forcing Train to intervene. Train blocks Lin’s assault but does not strike back, stating he will no longer kill. Lin withdraws after conveying Creed’s message that he awaits Train. Sven confronts Train about his passive stance, warning that Creed will keep hunting them until Train returns to his assassin ways. Train realizes that protecting Sven and Eve means he must actively stop Creed rather than simply avoid violence. He commits to confronting Creed directly, now fighting for his companions instead of running from his past. The group departs for Creed’s headquarters, setting the stage for a direct clash between Train and the leader of the Apostles.

Train listens in silence, his expression betraying guilt and unresolved grief. Meanwhile, Sven Vollfied and Eve follow Train’s trail, concerned about his emotional state. They arrive at the shop and witness Train’s subdued demeanor. A confrontation arises when a Chronos observer, seeking to reclaim Train as a former assassin, appears in the town. Train refuses to return, affirming his commitment to his new path as a sweeper. The observer retreats, but the encounter reminds Train of the ongoing threat from both Chronos and the Apostles of the Star.
