Greg Ayres is an American voice actor with a career spanning over two decades in the English-language dubbing of Japanese anime. Born on December 7, 1968, in Richmond, Virginia, he began his professional voice acting career in the late 1990s and early 2000s. Before entering the industry, Ayres was an avid anime fan and also worked as a nightclub DJ, a pursuit he continues alongside his voice acting work.

Ayres's entry into voice acting occurred in Houston, Texas, a major hub for anime localization at the time, where he began working with ADV Films. His early career involved landing roles through auditions and networking within the local community. Over the years, his studio affiliations have evolved, leading to work with Funimation (now Crunchyroll) and Sentai Filmworks, reflecting the broader consolidation of the English dubbing market. He is known for his distinctive, high-pitched vocal range, which often leads to him being cast in roles of young, energetic, or comedic characters.

Ayres has an extensive filmography with hundreds of credits. Among his most prominent and enduring roles are Kaoru Hitachiin in Ouran High School Host Club, the passionate libero Yu Nishinoya in Haikyu!!, and the gentle Koji Koda in My Hero Academia.
