Description
Kenta Kanzaki is a supporting male character and classmate of the protagonists Kyotaro Ichikawa and Anna Yamada. He is generally polite in public settings and is well-liked by his peers, but among his close friends, his behavior becomes notably more unfiltered.

His appearance is simple and unassuming. He has a shaved head, a practical hairstyle that identifies him as a member of the school's baseball team where he plays as the catcher. He has black hair that is cropped short and brown eyes.

Personality-wise, Kenta is defined by his extreme honesty and openness, particularly regarding his romantic and physical preferences. He is known for sharing "perverted" and oddly specific opinions about girls without any apparent sense of embarrassment or restraint. His comments are often the source of humor, as his tastes deviate significantly from conventional norms. For example, he openly states a preference for girls who are not "too beautiful," would be fine with a partner weighing over 100 kilograms, and has made remarks about not minding strong body odors. These statements lead his friend Kyotaro Ichikawa to internally label him as a "creep" or "the guy who likes ugly girls," and his friend Adachi Shou to call him a "pervert". Despite the shocking nature of his remarks, he is not seen as malicious or harmful. Because his attractions are so specific and publicly declared, the other girls in his class consider him harmless and non-threatening, as they feel confident his attention is focused elsewhere.

Kenta's primary motivation appears to be simply expressing himself without pretense. He is not driven by a desire to fit in or hide his unconventional interests. His open declaration of his crush on a specific classmate, Honoka Hara, largely dictates his social interactions. Hara is known for having a plump or curvy figure, which aligns directly with his stated preferences. He frequently compliments her and makes his affection known, which sometimes overwhelms her or makes her feel self-conscious. This relationship develops over the course of the story from mutual interest into an official romantic partnership outside of school, making them a recognized couple among their peers.

His role in the story is primarily for comic relief, providing levity through his unfiltered commentary on romance and physical attraction. He also serves as a foil to the protagonist, Kyotaro Ichikawa. While Ichikawa is introverted and struggles with his more sensitive, awkward feelings for Yamada, Kenta is extroverted and aggressively forward about his attractions, representing a different, more boisterous approach to teenage romance.

Kenta's key relationships form a tight-knit group with his two friends, Adachi Shou and Chikara Ota. Together, they frequently engage in crude and silly conversations about girls. He is also protective of his relationship with Honoka Hara, demonstrating a jealous side when other boys, such as Ichikawa, inadvertently compliment her. Ichikawa and Yamada indirectly support Kenta and Hara's relationship, such as when they help give the pair privacy, allowing them to grow closer.

In terms of development, Kenta's character arc is not about dramatic internal change but rather the progression of his outward circumstances. He transitions from a boy with a well-known, unrequited crush to a boy in a stable, reciprocated relationship with the girl of his unconventional dreams. His abilities are not combat or academic-related but social in nature. His most notable ability is his power to disarm the opposite sex with his sincerity; his complete lack of guile regarding his interests makes him seem safe and unthreatening to the female student body.
