Gen Sato is a Japanese voice actor born on March 22, 1997, in Kanagawa Prefecture. He is affiliated with the talent agency I'm Enterprise.

Sato's interest in voice acting began during his third year of junior high school after watching the anime series Star Driver. His family supported his career choice on the condition that he also pursue university studies. While attending university, he enrolled at the Japan Narration Actor Institute for training. After completing his studies, he passed an audition held by I'm Enterprise and officially joined the agency in 2017.

Sato's career gained momentum in 2019 with two significant roles: Chrome in the science adventure series Dr. Stone and Rintarō Futsu in the original sports anime Stars Align. The role of Chrome became a recurring part for him, appearing in subsequent series including Dr. Stone: Stone Wars, Dr. Stone: Ryusui, and Dr. Stone: New World.

In 2021, he landed his first lead role as Fumiya Tomozaki in Bottom-Tier Character Tomozaki, a performance that would later contribute to industry recognition. That same year, he voiced Sōma Azemachi in Burning Kabaddi, Sōsaku Yubiwa in Pretty Boy Detective Club, and Enju in Fena: Pirate Princess. He also joined the cast of That Time I Got Reincarnated as a Slime as Gail and appeared in Skate-Leading Stars as Tomoyuki Kubota.

The year 2022 saw Sato take on several prominent roles, including Kō Yamori in Call of the Night, Ichibanboshi in Shine On! Bakumatsu Bad Boys, Mikazuki Shinonome in Lucifer and the Biscuit Hammer, and Alan Ferrera in Bibliophile Princess. He also voiced Amō Shiiba in AMAIM Warrior at the Borderline.

In 2023, Sato played Finn Oldman in High Card, Ganta Nakami in Insomniacs After School, Tōsuke Rokudō in Rokudō no Onna-tachi, and Maru in Heavenly Delusion. He also joined the cast of The Dangers in My Heart as Kenta Kanzaki. His work continued into 2024 with roles such as Satō in Tales of Wedding Rings and Minato Wataya in Cherry Magic! Thirty Years of Virginity Can Make You a Wizard?!, as well as returning for the second season of Bottom-Tier Character Tomozaki.

Beyond anime, Sato has voiced characters in video games, including Sōshirō Yonaga in Jack Jeanne and Saul in Fire Emblem Heroes. He has also contributed to dubbing, providing the Japanese voice for Darius Bowman in Jurassic World Camp Cretaceous and Percy Becker in No Hard Feelings.

Sato has a noted professional relationship with fellow voice actor松岡禎丞, whom he considers a mentor. He has spoken about松岡's advice to give 120 percent at auditions as a guiding principle in his career. He also worked with松岡 on the radio program Matsuoka Hamburger.

In 2022, Sato was one of the recipients of the Best New Actor Award at the 16th Seiyu Awards, recognizing his breakthrough performances and rising prominence in the industry.
