Description
Tōsuke Rokudō enters Aomori High School, an institution dominated by delinquents, as a timid first-year student. He endures constant bullying alongside his two close friends, making his initial dream of a peaceful school life seem impossible. A pivotal shift occurs when he inherits a package from his deceased grandfather containing a priest's uniform and an ancient scroll. This Heian-period artifact, traditionally wielded by exorcists against evil spirits, bestows upon him the "Five Points Star Mark" – a pentagram emblem manifesting on his forehead upon activation. In the modern era, this power uniquely affects "bad girls": individuals exhibiting violent tendencies, delinquent behavior, or self-perceived evil natures. Eye contact triggers intense romantic feelings or attraction towards Tōsuke, though the spell does not control minds and its effects vary depending on personality, existing relationships, or priorities.
Physically, Tōsuke possesses average stature, spiky dark hair (described as black or dark purple), and black eyes. He typically wears the standard Aomori High School uniform: a gakuran jacket, white collared shirt, pants, and brown or white shoes.
Significant character development defines Tōsuke's journey. Initially defined by fear and cowardice, his resolve solidifies after Ranna Himawari, the first major girl affected by his power, offers protection. He rejects sole reliance on others, choosing to confront threats directly. This determination surfaces during a critical fight against his primary bully, Haruya Iinuma. Though physically overpowered, Tōsuke endures a severe beating and refuses to retreat, only asking Ranna for help when absolutely necessary. His resilience earns Iinuma's respect, transforming the bully into a key ally.
Driven by his goal of a peaceful life and protecting others, Tōsuke actively pursues self-improvement, studying kung fu under Ling Lan. He masters fundamental techniques and develops notable pain tolerance. His inherent kindness and forgiveness aid in rehabilitating several "bad girls" drawn to him by the curse. Ranna Himawari's violent nature is tempered through their bond. Sayuri Osanada, the school's physically strongest delinquent, reforms and uses her influence to support his goals. Others include motorcycle-riding vigilante Azami Himeno and former loan shark Minami Yamabuki. Tōsuke's leadership emerges organically, culminating in his role as leader of the Aomori-Tendou School Alliance and de facto leader of Aomori High's delinquents.
His relationships evolve alongside his growth. Core friendships with "Colonel" (Masaru Hinomoto) and "Manager" (Kouta Kijima) remain central, while former adversaries like Iinuma and Tsubaki become trusted allies. His bond with Ranna Himawari is particularly profound, involving efforts to pacify her destructive impulses and prevent external forces like the Onishima Union from exploiting her power. Conflicts with antagonists such as Doji Matsugamiya and Tsubaki further challenge him, demanding strategic interventions to protect his friends and school.
