TV-Series
Description
Izumi Sena is the central protagonist of the story. He is an eighteen-year-old college student at the start of the series, studying at Nanda University while pursuing his true passion as a devoted otaku. Standing approximately 163 centimeters tall with blond hair and distinctive gold-purple eyes, Izumi has a slender, youthful appearance that often leads others to mistake him for a girl. This physical trait becomes a significant factor in his life and the events that unfold around him.

Izumi comes from an extraordinarily talented show business family, a background he deeply resents. His father, Seiya Sena, is a former singer who now runs the Sena-Pro talent agency. His mother, Nagisa Sena, is a celebrated model turned actress starring in films and television dramas. His older brother, Shogo Sena, serves as the lead vocalist for the popular rock band The Crusherz. Despite the family's expectations for him to join them in the entertainment industry, Izumi wants nothing to do with show business. This aversion stems directly from a traumatic childhood experience when he was just eight years old. At that time, he was dressed as a girl to serve as a last-minute replacement in a television commercial for Happy Wedding, a bridal magazine. The experience was humiliating and discouraging, solidifying his determination to avoid the spotlight entirely.

Instead of performing, Izumi dreams of becoming a manga artist, or mangaka. He is a devoted fan of the fictional magical girl series Magical Angel Lala-Lulu, collecting merchandise and considering the character his ultimate favorite. He is also a member of his university's manga research society. However, Izumi faces a significant obstacle in pursuing his dream: while his passion for drawing is genuine, his actual artistic skill is notably poor, a fact he is reluctant to fully acknowledge.

In terms of personality, Izumi is introverted, gentle, and somewhat withdrawn. He much prefers the company of his anime and manga to real-world social interactions, and his family and the family manager, Rei Sagara, tend to dote on him and spoil him considerably. Despite his general reluctance to be pushed around, he is notably obedient to his older brother, Shogo, who knows exactly how to motivate him, often using bribes of exclusive Lala-Lulu merchandise. Izumi is generally reserved, usually speaking only when addressed first, and he tends to hide his genuine feelings behind his identity as an otaku.

Izumi's role in the story is set in motion when he is coerced into reprising his role as the bridal girl for the tenth-anniversary remake of the Happy Wedding commercial. He is bribed by his brother with a custom Lala-Lulu alarm clock and reluctantly agrees, viewing it as a form of cosplay to help him cope. On set, he is reunited with his former co-star, Ichijo Ryouma, who has since become a wildly popular and handsome young actor. Unlike Izumi, Ryouma has fond memories of the commercial and has harbored a decade-long crush on the girl he believes he worked with, completely unaware that Izumi is male.

This misunderstanding forms the core conflict and relationship of the series. When the truth is revealed after the shoot, Ryouma initially reacts poorly, calling Izumi a degrading name. However, Ryouma soon realizes his feelings have not changed despite Izumi's gender and begins persistently pursuing him, leading to a frightened and frustrated response from Izumi. Over time, as Ryouma sincerely apologizes and asks only for friendship, their relationship develops into a romantic one, built on growing mutual respect and support.

Throughout the story, Izumi undergoes considerable development. He is forced to confront his lack of talent as a mangaka when a publisher rejects his contest entry, bluntly telling him he has no future in the field. This crushing blow leads him to a moment of crisis, but it also pushes him to mature. He makes the difficult decision to step into the entertainment world, not just for his family or due to pressure, but as a conscious choice to grow as a person and stop running from challenges. As he begins his career as an偶像, he draws inspiration from Ryouma's dedication and support. In turn, Izumi's sincerity and unique perspective help Ryouma become a warmer and less cynical person.

Among Izumi's notable traits and abilities is his profound love for and encyclopedic knowledge of the Lala-Lulu franchise, which he treasures above almost everything else. He also demonstrates a deep, if reluctantly given, resilience. While he suffers from severe stage fright and social anxiety, he finds the inner strength to perform when it truly matters. His drawing, while technically unrefined, is a genuine expression of his creativity and passion. He is also shown to be more perceptive than he initially appears, capable of recognizing his own faults and the hurt he may cause others, and he actively works to make amends. Izumi's journey is one of a reluctant participant finding his own path and voice, both in love and in life.
