Description
Kazuto Tokino defies his parents' objections about financial viability to operate his family's bathhouse, driven by determination to honor his late grandfather's legacy. His life changes irrevocably when Princess Valkyrie of Valhalla crashes her spacecraft into the bathhouse, mortally wounding him. To save him, Valkyrie transfers half her soul through a kiss, transforming herself into an eight-year-old child and forging an unbreakable spiritual link between them.

This act binds Kazuto as Valkyrie's primary caregiver and protector. He safeguards her child form from threats like Hydra's attempts to forcibly return her to Valhalla. Kazuto consistently demonstrates kindness, reliability, and protectiveness, extending even to preventing Sanada from transforming Akina into a catgirl. Despite the complexities of Valkyrie's dual forms, Kazuto develops romantic feelings focused on her inner self. Their relationship deepens, culminating in an official engagement recognized by the Valhallan royal family.

Beyond Valkyrie, Kazuto maintains significant relationships. His childhood friend Akina Nanamura harbors unreciprocated romantic feelings for him, complicated by her jealousy towards Valkyrie. Kazuto remains largely unaware of Akina's emotions and does not return them, though he shows care for her safety. His sister Rika assists with bathhouse operations and supports his relationship with Valkyrie, partly motivated by perceived financial benefits for the family.

During the events of "December Nocturne," Kazuto encounters "Valkyrie Ghost," an entity mirroring Valkyrie's adult form but clad in dark costume with red eyes. This entity exerts a mysterious influence, inducing trance-like behavior in Kazuto and creating space-time disturbances. Valkyrie Ghost draws power by kissing him, mirroring Valkyrie's ability. Kazuto appears drawn to her without resistance, his underlying motivations unclear. The arc concludes with a collective effort defeating Valkyrie Ghost, Kazuto participating alongside allies including the fused warrior Akidra.

Kazuto's name reflects his character: combining "harmony/peace" (和) and "person" (人), while his surname Tokino derives from "time/occasion" (時) and "field/wilderness" (野).
