His subordinate Doz questions this conclusion. Gates responds by pushing Doz out of the helicopter into a river. Gates then meets Colonel Marius of the Balic militia at a deserted baseball field. Marius complains about the quality of the equipment purchased from Amalgam. Gates mocks him and shoots him in the head. He orders his squad to execute all of Marius's men while he sings Ave Maria. After the massacre, Gates realizes he cannot collect the payment with Marius dead. A subordinate notes that Gates himself ordered the attack. Gates shoots that subordinate, then shakes the dead man while blaming him for his own mistake. Xia Yu Lan, one of the twin assassins accompanying Gates, calls him an idiot. The terrorists subject Kaname to scientific testing,probing for her abilities as a "Whispered." Sousuke Sagara evades the hijackers and infiltrates the base alone. A flashback reveals that Sousuke previously shot Gauron in the forehead during a mission in Afghanistan. Gauron survived the attack and now seeks revenge against Sousuke while exploiting Kaname's hidden knowledge. The terrorists discover Sousuke’s military-grade radio equipment. Zaied orders Sousuke’s execution. Sousuke disarms the guard and eliminates multiple terrorists using hand-to-hand combat and the guard’s weapon. Kaname hears an inaudible voice in her mind. The voice provides detailed technical instructions for disabling the explosive device the terrorists planted. Kaname relays the instructions to Sousuke. He follows them precisely and neutralizes the bomb seconds before detonation. Sousuke subdues Zaied and restores control of the plane to the crew. Sousuke hacks the security terminal and activates the machine. Gauron climbs into his own Arm Slave, a Soviet Savage, and powers it up for combat. The two machines exchange gunfire and missiles inside the enclosed space. Sousuke dodges Gauron's rockets and fires back, hitting the Savage's shoulder armor. He then maneuvers the M6 to collapse several support pillars by shooting their bases. The falling steel beams trap the Savage against the floor. Sousuke aims his rifle at the cockpit, but Gauron pulls a grenade and detonates it inside his own machine. The explosion destroys the Savage's upper torso, but Gauron escapes through a hatch in the floor. Kaname leaves the container and runs toward the wreckage. Sousuke devises a plan for himself and Kurtz to distract the enemy while Kaname runs to safety. Kaname refuses to leave them behind. Sousuke enters the Arbalest to confront Gauron directly. The Arbalest's Lambda Driver system fails to activate when Sousuke attempts to use it. Gauron's Codarl attacks relentlessly, exploiting the Arbalest's inconsistent defenses. Kaname watches the battle and discovers her Whispered abilities awakening. She receives technical knowledge about the Lambda Driver's operation. Takuma secretly uses Kaname's cell phone to contact his comrades. Armed terrorists surround the building and demand Takuma's release. The terrorists capture Tessa and Kaname as hostages. Sousuke agrees to exchange Takuma for the two captives. He releases Tessa first, then uses a thrown grenade to distract enemy snipers. A hostage exchange goes wrong,and terrorists from A21 take Teletha Testarossa and Kaname Chidori captive. The captives end up inside a large tanker that serves as the terrorists' hideout. Sousuke Sagara survives an RPG attack and regroups with his Mithril teammates Kurz Weber and Melissa Mao. The three soldiers plan a rescue operation for their friends and Lieutenant Kalinin, who the terrorists also hold. Inside the tanker, the terrorists interrogate Kalinin about the Lambda Driver's secrets, using Tessa and Kaname as leverage. Tessa and Kaname break free from their captors through deception and a quick counterattack. The two girls explore the tanker's cargo hold and discover a massive Arm Slave called the Behemoth. Takuma Kugayama, the young terrorist pilot, confronts the group alongside his ally Seina. Sousuke and Kurz arrive and engage the guards, wounding Takuma. Despite his injury, Takuma reaches the Behemoth's cockpit and activates the colossal weapon. The episode ends with the Behemoth powering up, threatening everyone inside the tanker.
12Burning Hong Kong
Xia Yu Fan leads Sousuke Sagara through Hong Kong to Gauron's hideout. She then leaves to engage Melissa Mao,Kurz Weber, and Vincent Clouseau as their Arm Slave team moves into the city. Gauron lies crippled on a bed, missing most of his limbs and near death from cancer. He reveals details about the secret organization Amalgam to Sousuke. Gauron taunts Sousuke by claiming he killed Kaname Chidori to make Sousuke weak. Sousuke draws his sidearm and shoots Gauron multiple times in the chest. He evacuates the building just before a bomb hidden under the bed detonates. The explosion fails to kill Sousuke. On the Mithril submarine Tuatha de Danaan, Captain Teletha Testarossa orders the Arbalest prepared for launch despite Commander Mardukas objecting to the violation of orders. Gates and his Amalgam team arrive in Hong Kong with the intent to kill Xia Yu Fan. The episode ends with Sousuke alone in the burning city, having lost Gauron and believing Chidori dead, while Testarossa commits Mithril's resources to a rescue mission against direct commands.

Sousuke Sagara moves to the bridge and rescues Captain Testarossa and the trapped crew members. With Tessa regaining control of the ship, the Tuatha de Danaan ascends to the surface. Gauron escapes to his Venom Arm Slave and attempts to destroy the submarine from within the hangar. Sousuke activates his own Arm Slave, the Arbalest, to intercept him. The US Navy calls off its attack on the submarine. Sousuke blocks Gauron's escape and forces a final one-on-one battle inside the hangar.
24Into the Blue
Sousuke Sagara confronts Gauron inside the hangar of the Tuatha de Danaan as Gauron pilots the Venom Arm Slave. Gauron unleashes the Venom's full offensive capabilities against Sousuke's Arbalest within the submarine's confined space. Sousuke fights back ferociously,putting Gauron on the defensive and damaging the Venom. Despite declaring himself defeated, Gauron activates his Arm Slave's self-destruct mechanism to destroy the submarine and everyone aboard. Kaname Chidori, using her access to the submarine's systems from the bridge, helps Sousuke jettison Gauron's Arm Slave through the launch bay. The Arm Slave explodes immediately after leaving the submarine, sparing the Tuatha de Danaan from critical damage. The explosion damages the hangar, and Sousuke emerges from the battle visibly frustrated by his encounter with his nemesis. After the submarine returns to Merida Island, Captain Teletha Testarossa oversees the somber task of sending home the remains of two Special Response Team members. The crew lost the two soldiers during Gauron's takeover of the submarine. Sousuke fails to catch any fish during a quiet fishing trip with Tessa, indicating his lingering emotional turmoil.
