Mauricio Valverde is a Mexican voice actor born on September 24, 1972, in Mexico City, recognized for his extensive work in Latin American Spanish dubbing for anime, television series, and films. His career in dubbing began in 1999, following a background in communication and media that included roles in radio and television production after he earned a degree in Hotel Administration. Beyond acting, Valverde has also taken on roles as a director of dubbing.

Valverde is perhaps best known for voicing the protagonist Yusuke Urameshi in the classic anime series Yu Yu Hakusho, a role that has become a signature part of his career. His repertoire in anime includes a wide range of prominent characters, such as Trowa Barton in Mobile Suit Gundam Wing, multiple roles across the Digimon franchise including Ryo Akiyama in Digimon Tamers and Junpei Shibayama in Digimon Frontier, Kurz Weber in Full Metal Panic? Fumoffu, and Gai Daigoji in Martian Successor Nadesico. His work extends to more recent series as well, with credits including Ox Ford in Soul Eater, roles in Overlord II and III, and the character Bebin in the acclaimed series Ranking of Kings.

In addition to his anime work, Valverde has voiced numerous characters in live-action productions. He is known for his portrayal of Spike in Buffy the Vampire Slayer and Angel, T-Bag in the first seasons of Prison Break, and Dr. Jack Hodgins in the early seasons of Bones. His film dubbing work includes providing the Latin Spanish voice for actors such as Ewan McGregor, Ashton Kutcher, and Brad Pitt in various films. Valverde took a hiatus from dubbing in 2011 but returned to the industry in 2018. Alongside his acting, he has worked as a dubbing director for projects like the series Arrested Development, known in Spanish as Sacrificios de familia, and the film Mr. & Mrs. Smith. He has also directed dubbing for Turkish and Korean television series.
