Kent Williams is an American voice actor widely recognized for his extensive work in English-language dubs of Japanese anime, primarily for Funimation and Crunchyroll. Born on October 11, 1964, he is a native Texan and a long-time resident of Dallas. He received a Bachelor of Fine Arts in acting from Southern Methodist University in 1987, which laid the foundation for a dynamic career in the performing arts that extends beyond voice acting into stage performance and puppetry.

Williams' career in anime voice acting began in the early 2000s, with his debut role often cited as Android 20, also known as Dr. Gero, in the Funimation dub of Dragon Ball Z. This marked the beginning of a long association with the Dragon Ball franchise, where he has become a familiar voice for multiple characters, including the assassin Mercenary Tao, the deity Supreme Kai, and the Elder Kai. His work on this and other long-running series established him as a staple voice in the industry.

His filmography is vast and diverse, showcasing his ability to portray a wide range of character types. He is known for playing authoritative, scholarly, or elder figures, as well as villains and comedic roles. One of his most notable roles is Dr. Hatori Soma in the beloved series Fruits Basket, a role he reprised for the 2019 reboot of the show. In the popular action series My Hero Academia, he voices the flamboyant and theatrical villain Mr. Compress. He also provided the voice for the primary antagonist, Father, in the critically acclaimed Fullmetal Alchemist: Brotherhood. Other significant roles include the Judge in the Ace Attorney anime, Sid Barrett in Soul Eater, Byakuya Ishigami in Dr. Stone, and Go Gunhee in Solo Leveling.

Throughout his career, Williams has collaborated frequently with the same dubbing studios and casting directors, leading to a long list of credits that span numerous popular series. He has voiced characters in a wide array of shows, including Kuro in One Piece, Mao in Darker than Black, Deus Ex Machina in The Future Diary, Akisame Koetsuji in KenIchi the Mightiest Disciple, and Shinpachi Nagakura in Golden Kamuy.
