Old Supreme Kai, also known as Old Kai or Elder Kai, is an ancient divine being from the fifteenth generation of Kais and a predecessor to the current Supreme Kai. He is a supporting figure in Dragon Ball GT, where he appears as an elder of the celestial hierarchy who has long since died yet continues to act across the living world, the afterlife, and the sacred realm of the gods. Because he already resided in the afterlife before his physical death, losing his life had little practical consequence, and he remains able to observe events and lend assistance when necessary.
His unusual origin explains both his appearance and his powers. More than seventy-five million years ago, an old witch stole one of his Potara earrings and placed it on herself, permanently fusing the two of them.
