Description
Dusk Shinmoyu, adoptive father to Nataru Shinmoyu and biological father to Valic Shinmoyu, was formerly the leader of an Altan uprising against the Space Federation. His anti-Federation terrorist activities were driven by a desire to secure his people's freedom. Despite this involvement in violent resistance, Dusk rejected extremist methods. He notably refused an offer to join Christella Revi due to her excessive brutality, causing significant friction with his son Valic and other resistance fighters who favored more aggressive tactics.

After his guerrilla activities, Dusk retired from terrorism and relocated to Earth, living quietly in hiding as an unassuming librarian to distance himself from his past. As a parent, he demonstrated deep care for Nataru, wanting him to live a peaceful life free from violence. He adopted Nataru after the child suffered severe persecution on Altan due to his Ixorian heritage and the political stigma associated with Dusk's terrorist background. Dusk's relationship with Valic was irreparably damaged by Valic's resentment over the attention given to Nataru and their conflicting ideologies on violence.

Dusk's past resurfaced when Federation military cell members involved in the Ryunka disaster—Gatol, Moss, and Valic—escaped custody and hid on Earth. Aware of Nataru's quest for vengeance against these individuals, Dusk expressed disapproval but ultimately did not intervene, understanding Nataru's anguish. His reluctance to confront his past directly led to his demise: he was overpowered and murdered by Gatol during a confrontation, demonstrating his diminished capabilities as a "Retired Monster." His death became the final catalyst for Nataru's descent into violent retribution against the Federation fugitives.

Throughout his arc, Dusk maintained a calm demeanor, often depicted with closed eyes symbolizing his desire for peace after a life of conflict. His legacy is defined by his paradoxical identity as a former terrorist who sought redemption through quiet paternal devotion, yet whose unresolved history ultimately fueled further cycles of violence.
