Description
Jorge Saotome is a character who appears in the anime adaptation of Yu Yu Hakusho. He is an ogre and serves as an assistant to Koenma, the ruler of Spirit World. As an anime-exclusive character, Jorge does not appear in the original manga by Yoshihiro Togashi.

In terms of background, Jorge is a blue-skinned ogre with long blond hair that is thinning, a single horn on his head, and pointed ears. He typically wears a simple brown loincloth with black stripes. His full name is revealed by Koenma to be Jorge Saotome.

Jorge has an outspoken and laid-back personality, often acting as a voice of reason with a more realistic outlook compared to his boss. He consistently tries to help Koenma and encourages him to have more faith in the abilities of Yusuke Urameshi and his team, firmly believing that Yusuke can overcome any challenge he faces. Despite his dedication, Jorge is notably unsatisfied with his clerical role. His personal motivations include a recurring dream of becoming an announcer or a singer, aspirations he pursues humorously on a few occasions.

His primary role in the story is that of Koenma's long-suffering assistant, frequently seen carrying paperwork or helping his boss catch up on unfinished work. He often bears the brunt of Koenma's frustration, with his boss once going so far as to jokingly suggest giving Jorge a frontal lobotomy. Despite this, he remains loyal and continues to support Koenma. During the Dark Tournament saga, Jorge accompanies Koenma to the tournament grounds and, during the finals, attempts to fulfill his dream by trying to become an announcer alongside the demon Koto, a request that was quickly denied. He later accompanies Koenma and Botan on their disguised mission to the Demon World during the Three Kings Saga, where he again attempts to join Koto as an announcer.

Jorge's key relationships are primarily defined by his dynamic with Koenma. While their interactions are often played for comic relief with Koenma venting his anger on him, their relationship shows signs of improvement as the series progresses. During the Chapter Black saga, Koenma begins to refer to Jorge by name, and the two demonstrate a greater willingness to express mutual concern and fondness for each other. He also interacts with Botan, as they both commonly assist Koenma.

In terms of character development, a significant revelation occurs near the end of the series. In the penultimate episode, it is disclosed that Jorge has been the narrator of the entire anime, implying that the show was a documentary about Yusuke Urameshi's life from his perspective.

Regarding notable abilities, Jorge does not possess significant combat skills. His chief functions are his administrative duties as Koenma's secretary and his behind-the-scenes role as the series narrator. He is also identified as the Blue Ogre in the video game Yu Yu Hakusho: Tournament Tactics.
