Description
Helmut von Giuseppe, alias Scythe Master, is a German scientist holding a doctorate in psychology and brain development. He abandoned academia for the criminal underworld, becoming an operative for the Inferno organization. Tall and often seen wearing glasses and a lab coat, his appearance reflects his scientific origins.

Psychologically, he exhibits sadistic tendencies and delusions of grandeur, perceiving the world as his stage where he pulls the strings. He views the assassins he creates—Ein, Zwei, and Drei—as mere tools, not people. Leveraging his neurology expertise and interrogation skills, he methodically strips subjects of identity and autonomy using brainwashing, hypnosis, and drugs to forge obedient killers. This includes practices like applying gun oil to Ein's body during maintenance, reinforcing his perception of assassins as inanimate weapons requiring upkeep.

Within Inferno, Scythe Master operates as a subordinate to executive Claudia McCunnen but secretly nurses intense resentment towards her. He plots to overthrow the organization's leadership to achieve his own ambitions. His creations are central to this scheme, especially Ein, his first and most compliant assassin. He exploits her absolute loyalty for missions advancing his agenda.

His betrayal manifests through direct actions, weaponizing Ein to attack Inferno assets. This culminates in Zwei cornering him to end his influence. During the confrontation, Ein sacrifices herself by intercepting a bullet meant for Scythe Master, enabling his escape. His subsequent whereabouts remain unknown, leaving his plans for global influence unrealized.

His legacy persists through the assassins he engineered, particularly Drei (Cal Devens), who becomes a successor to the Phantom title under his indirect influence. The trauma and psychological manipulation he inflicted define his enduring impact on their lives.
